How to correctly configure FFX-2?

Hello there.
I tried playing FFX-2 but there're some problems persisting.
First of all here's my comp spec :

Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition
Service Pack 3
DirectX : (DirectX 9.0c)
CPU : Intel C2D Pentium III Xeon, 2666 MHz (9 x 296)
Ram : 2x1Gb Corsair XMS2 PC6400 DDR2
GC : NVIDIA GeForce XFX 8800 GT PCIE (512 Mo)

I have already played few games without any problems (like FFX, Kingdom Hearts, etc...) but it's a bit hard to configure the emulator properly for FFX-2.
I searched around in the forums and saw lot of things like, using speedhack, using newest gsdx plugins and the bera public release and i tried those things but still not working properly.
So i was wondering if anyone can help me configuring this out and making it working properly, maybe not 100% full working but at least making the gameplay pleasant.
If there any other information i must give, please just notify me.

Just some help on whitch graphic plugin to use and how to configure it properly, and also some help on CPU configuration.

PS : actually using a Pal Version of FFX-2 --> SLES_518.15
PS2 : no need to specify that i have already followed this guide PCSX2.net - Guide but still nothing correct.
Thx for any help.

Wish I could be of some help, but unfortunately the best I've been able to do is get it running full speed in-game and at about half-speed in FMVs, and thats on an E8400 @ 4.0GHz, 4GB of RAM, and a 9800 GTX OC'd to about 800/2400.

The X2 FMVs seem to give PCSX2 a hard time, regardless of which graphics plugin i use, and so I have to either use the FMV skip patch, or just struggle through the slooow FMVs. Not sure what the technical reason is there

Well i saw in some topics that it was possible to emulate the game at full speed : 60 fps even on FMV's.
In case that it isn't possible to emulate it at full speed, NKDietrich can u please post your config (graphic & sound plugin (+possible options) and also the CPU configuration) for a better performance in game. I'll try do the same even if we don't have same comp spec.
If the only problem remains the FMV's then i'll try to use a kind of patch to skip them. (I would appreciate if u could advise me on which patch to use for FMV's skipping).
By the way, if i obtain a config that allows me to have battles without problems i'll be happy

Peops volume 2,reverb 0, Interpolation 2,;
Cpu config Multithreaded and Dual core mode on.
when I first ran it their was these vertical line running across so ,so pressed f4 and then split in 2.... lol
then i pressed f5 and it came smooth and clear, fmv squences that is.

FMV about 19fps
In-game squences 26fps
Normal gameplay 33fps.

EDIT2: To answer original posters question I'm afraid you cpu is limiting your speed most.

Here are my settings but I have faster system than yours:
Latest pcsx2v2 or pcsx2 (both seems to give equal speed)
No speed hacks, no patches
MTGS and dual core + other CPU options ON
Latest gsdx DX10 1680x1050 SSE4
Gigaherts SPU2 1.90beta with limit speed option enabled
linuzapps iso plugin

I have pretty much same setup. Expect I'm running my 9800GTX at stock speed with pcsx2. E8400@4ghz too and 4gb ram.
u seriously are doing something wrong. Ingame must be limited to normal speeds (60 fps) and fmvs run around 50fps. Yes, fmvs demand good hardware on ffx-2 but your system should run them pretty nicely.

Normally run it full screen but wanted to show title bar on screen shot. Looks bit better on full screen than on this screenie in my opinion

blend bff with gsdx seems to give best image quality. Too bad I have to use native res as non native gives weird black lines (squares) on fmvs. Non native res works fine ingame tho.
EDIT3: Using blend doesn't give huge fps hit on fmvs anymore, older svn versions of gsdx were slower with it

EDIT: with EE/IOP sync speedhack enabled I get around 58fps on fmvs. Not sure if it causes any problems in game as I've always played without it. Might give it a shot later today
