Error opening GS plugin

I'm not sure if this is the right place for this, but I sure think so...
So, my specs are the following:

--Soft--
XP Pro
DX9
PCSX2 0.9.4
All the latest graphics plugins
PS2 BIOS Europe 2.0
--Hard--
AMD Athlon 64 3400+ (2,45GHz)
1GB Ram,
Ati Radeon 9600 (256MB, running at 1280x1024@60Hz normally, latest drivers)
80GB HD-space, about 7700rpm I think

I've followed the getting started guides and everything seems to be set, but I'm stuck at formatting my memory cards, because I can't get the whole thing to run. I'm running on CDVD null driver, to get access to the memory cards, I've tried to use all the plugins for graphics (including frogs) but always the same message ("Error opening GS plugin"). On run, output gives me:
Bios Version 2.0
GIF Reset
NTSC

Any help would be appreciated, I'd love to get to play my FFX again.

Edit:
Forgot to mention, that if I try to run non-VM, the whole emulator crashes at the same point I'd normally get the message.

CDVD null driver doesnt do anything, basically. Use other CDVD plugins if you want different results ;P

Using ZeroGS ? Which graphic card do you have by the way ?

Well, same problem whatever driver I use, and I'm just using null to get the mem cards formatted. :o

Well, tried GSdx and ZeroGS, multiple versions of them, even. However, I have ATI Radeon 9600, if I forgot to mention.

Both zeroGS and the current versions of gsdx require a card with Pixel Shader 2.0 feature.
I'm not sure but I don't think the 9600 had 2.0, so the only way you can get it to run is with older versions of gsdx9 (from before gabest removed the pre-2.0 code).

But with the PC you have, you won't get any great speeds. Keep that in mind.

The Book and other stories:
Tears of Fantasy - An Online Book... by ME!
MetaLife, Inc. (intro)
SubGaea (intro)
Crow Blade (intro for now)
Memories - Prayer from the fallen hearts.

My weblog... not like if there was too much to read on it tho.
For anyone interested, there's a mirc script which converts "/me 's" into " * nickname's whatever" and adds a nice "/my" command.

Hmm, tried GSdx 0.9 0.7 too, with no better results.. However, I think it's time for a new Gx card, it's really outdated. But what comes to fps, if I remember right, human eye can distinguish 25fps (subconciously, and conciously even less, so if every 25th frame is a bottle of soda, I'd feel thirsty but not see the bottle), so until I get more developed eyes, that's what I require from my games. ^^ But thanks for help anyway, althought still struggling with this problem. I gave my tv away, because tv sucks, so I'm not going back to using PS2, either. So, getting this work is my only shot. ^^

having the same issue, but till yesterday everything worked, even after update of GSdx and DirectX it still isn't working (was still using 0.17). ZeroGS works but most of my games don't even go ingame with that.

the eye can detect motion with as few as 10fps, and it doesn't see more than 25-30 frames/second, but that's not the point.

consoles have a fixed speed ratio in its hardware. you need to keep all the hardware in sync if you want the games to work, so you need to enforce the speed differences to be as exact as possible comapred to the original hardware.
what this means is: if you run a game at 25fps, it WILL be slowed down to 50% (if it was PAL) or less. our eye might not need extra speed, but the whole gameplay WILL be 50% slower, which you don't want.
