Question Continued lack of joy with Katamari Damacy

Well I've spent about two days trying various combinations of PSCX2 and plug-ins with little success in getting Katamari Damacy (US) to work properly and was hoping someone here had found the magic combination!

I have tried PCSX2 0.9.4 and 0.9.5, as well as the ZeroGS 0.97.0 graphics plug-in (which I seem to have the most success with, visually - not speed wise) and I've also tried Gsdx9 0.10.0 and Gsdx (SSE2) 0.1.7. I've tried various settings in each other these, with far too many variations to list here.

I'm using a 3GB uncompressed ISO of the US version of Katamari Damacy, with the USA v1.60 bios. My computer specs are:

Windows Vista Ultimate
AMD X2 Dual Core 5200+ 2.6ghz
2.0 GB RAM
Nvidia GeForce 8600GT w/latest BETA drivers from Nvidia

I'm seeing PSCX2 use about 225MB of RAM and both procs stay at 100% util when playing. FPS is all over the place, usually between 15-50FPS.

So to wrap up, Katamari is pretty much unplayable. Just wondering if anyone out there can lend a hand!

i believe the game is unplayable.

i've heard that theres some glitch in it that makes it unplayable.

in the compatability list, the jap version says "playable" and the US version says "in-game"..

not sure if the Jap version is any different.. might just be a fluke in the compatibility list..

It's playable - there are a number of threads on the forums here in which people discuss getting it to work with varying degrees of success, however no one ever gives the exact settings they used to make it work and many of those posts are fairly dated.

I was hoping someone might come along and provide some details on their settings that might give me what I need to make it run at least acceptably.
