Strange error with gsdx
So I just started playing with pcsx2 and finally finished some games I started along time ago (ffxii looks great on my comp),
Anyways I have a strange error whenever I use the gsdx gs plugin(dx10), it works find and everything but when I first start up pcsx2 I get an error msg complaining about not finding a dx9 dll, then some more error msg about failing to load gsdxssse3...something about npp dll...I ok the plugin config w/o changing anything, then everything works.... So I tried fixing by moving the dx10 and dx9 dlls which are in the plugin dir right now to the main dir of pcsx2(which apparently is the correct thing) but then pcsx2 crashes when trying to load a game..... I am on vista32, I am pretty sure when its running it is using dx10 and ssse3 since I dont think pcsx2 will automatically revert to a different plugin if ssse3 or dx10 is not detected. EDIT: oh and this only happens with gsdx 1.7 when set to use dx10, no issues with zero or older gsdx, and psx2 .94 and beta(343) |

Soo, which graphic card do you have?
Do you have a copy of the directx dlls in the plugins folder? Which are the currently used plugins (and config of gsdx) ? Last edited by Hard core Rikki; April 20th, 2008 at 11:46. |

core2duo e8400, 8800gts,
right now the dlls are in the plugin folder gsdx ssse3 0.1.7, windowed, dx10 hardware, res 1280x960,texture filtering on, nloop grey zerospu2 .4.5 rest is defualt... here is what I have tried, move dlls to main folder - crash, copy to main folder -crash, leave in plugin dir -see above, another strange thing is that if I open the config then cancel, everything works in the move or copy case. it might be some memory bug that is "fixed" when the config panel is viewed. In the console, the print out before the crash is the same as the print out when running ok, ie there is no indication pcsx2 has crashed, only vista complaining. I dont know if pcsx2 dies on an actual error or if vista is just being evil and stopping the program because it feel threatened. Anyways this is just an annoyance so no need for anyone to lose sleep over it...it seems like im the only one with the problem so Im going to blame my vista and the boatload of processes that are always running. EDIT: So it seems some other people are having this issue with the beta builds and vista, but I'm getting the error also with the stable .94. Last edited by ntrekie; April 23rd, 2008 at 00:23. |
