guys,i had tried latest SPU2ghz(1.6) on some game. buffer size set to 1024/1500 and number of buffer set from small to large(3-50).i just want to ask in number of buffer what exactly value must be set so that has good music/sound in game. because i already try it with different value in number of buffer(5,10,15,20,25,30,35,40,45,50),if small(< 25)music isn't good but a little robotic and if large(> 25)music good but repeated.
so anyone know what value must fill in number of buffer not buffer size?
Thanks.

If the music is loopy or robotic then you probably can't run the emulator fast enough. If that's the case, then you are mostly out of luck, as the plugin doesn't yet have any means to change the playback speed dynamically to adapt of the emulation speed.

For anyone interested, there's a mirc script which converts "/me 's" into " * nickname's whatever" and adds a nice "/my" command.

Do you have any plans on such then? Ie playback speed in sync with emulation speed? Just curious, since that's why ZeroSPU2 becomes the number #1 choice for me anyways.

Well the last timestretching attempt was a horrible failure... and people didn't like to get just pitch changes.
I might try it again someday but I'd have to try with a method that works better.

how does the 5.1 sourround work? I tried using it with pro logic 2 games and I think it's still in stereo. Is it because the way the emulator sends the audio data to the plug in or the plug in is sending the stream in a different format?

did you select the Dsound 5.1 output module? it does upscale even stereo games anyway, no idea how it handles pro logic :P

Hey Gigaherz, I tried your sound plugin with Fire Pro Wrestling R and went through all the available options and settings in all sorts of combinations but couldn't get the ingame sound to work. Menu Music is fine and works (but did so before already), but if I don't disable the sound in the emulator I get noisy beeping at random during play. It doesn't matter if I choose Fmod, Wave or one of the other, the result is always the same.

This happens with both 0.9.4 and the 0.9.5 Beta btw.

Hey people, the following two weeks I will be mostly free, so I would like to know what problems are still present in 1.6. As always I'm specially interested in missing or broken audio, specially if the game(s) work better on other plugins. Minor glitches are less important to me, but it would still be nice to know about them.

I'm trying to build a "todo" list with all the known issues and even some feature requests if you people have any. I will see what I can do and what I can not.

Well, I guess I'll start then
Important (to me) things first:
- in nearly every game some sounds are wrong, ff12's footsteps are an example
but its in other games as well. Grandia 3's main menu is heavily affected
- Savestates.. I know this is a lot of work, but if you could try to make your plugin
compatible with the other ones it'd be great
- then there's the surround issue with FL and FR somehow wrong.. you know what i mean
- and last but not least it would be nice if your plugin was a little more fps resistant.
What i mean is whenever fps drop from fullspeed to say 55 for a very brief moment, it'll interrupt sound very aprupt.
Maybe there's a better sounding way to handle short slowness

PS: maybe shorter audio delay too?
PPS: the interpolation sounds awfull here, but its working quite well without it

Heh .. allright then, I'll post the issue again ...

Fire Pro Wrestling Returns:

- Plugin does weird noises during gameplay while in menu the music won't work but there's static to be heard ... happens in all possible combinations of settings with 0.9.4 and the 0.9.5 Beta.

It would seem that no other sound plugin works with this game either. Only some will play menu music and music during gameplay, but sound fx is completely absent.

There actually IS sound FX during gameplay when under cpu options I go and disable EERec, but that causes such a massive FPS drop that the game becomes unplayable, hence isn't really an option.

- There seems to be a problem with the sound-volume. Speach in some games i tested is very quiet so i cannot understand much...

Besides: You're creating a great plugin i think. Support for 5.1 soundsets is a cool thing...

Beta 1.7 is up ppl! It's a kinda experimental release, with many things unfinished. But I wanted to upload something already.

Yesterday I managed to make the CDDA player in the bios work. It's not perfect and the sound randomly stops after some seconds (usually 20-50 secs), but it's a nice thing no one had done yet!

As a note: with peops cdvd, it will play one track more than the number says, so track 1 is the second one, and so on. If you want proper track numbering, you can use the version of my cdvd plugin I'm also releasing now.

I tried Fire Pro Returns again with the 1.7 beta but unfortunately the problems remain, now with added weird looping of the menu music. Once in the game it produces screeching noises and random beeping. One improvement though - it plays the menu music now (with some sort of a looping bug however that is kind of hard to describe - basically the song starts and after a few seconds starts over, then gets a bit further before restarting etc).
