There was a project out there that was trying to make direct x 10 for windows xp. Sadly I don't think it was ever completed. Just stick with windows xp. I'd rather own that right now then what I have now...

Exclamation

Here is it, download the DirectX Web Updater its only 300K, run it and it will update the missing files.

This is RAR file, so unpack it first.

Anyway back to topic, this is GREAT plug-in, so far its the fastest.
I have a question, can some one who have SSE 4 check what's the difference in speed vs. SSE 3?
Attached Files
File Type: rar dxwebsetup.rar (258.7 KB, 80 views)

Fantastic, gabest has improved speed so much with this latest version!!! With my pc all games run in full frame (50-60 with limiter!!!). In my opinion, now is the moment to improve also compatibility and graphic precision (reducing graphic errors).

Gabest, you are the best!!!

I wouldn't know how to benchmark it. I am using the SSE4 plugin on my Sager 5793 laptop (Penryn 2.5ghz + 8800M GTX, Vista x64) and the only game I've really been playing, FFXII, runs at 1920x1200 in DX10 with no issues. It didn't have any real issues before though.

How hard was it to put it in wikipedia and get your answer?
SSE4 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Quote:
Intel SSE4 consists of 54 instructions. A subset consisting of 47 instructions, referred to as SSE4.1 in some Intel documentation, is available in Penryn. Additionally, SSE4.2, a second subset consisting of the 7 remaining instructions, will first be available in Nehalem.

I mean can you try both of them and see if there is noticeable difference?
You can disable speed limiter and see the maximum frames you achieve

Thanks.

I have a 3870 graphic card and with this new d3d10 i cant get it working it crashes just after the image is loaded. Dunno why because it was working flawless with the version 0.1.7. Tried to change resolution and the problem persists. Its working with d3d9.

Im giving this feedback because it could be hapanning with other ppl. Thanks.

I use E6550, and I can use SSE4. I don't know what different between SSSE3 and SSE4(about FPS score).
But I try to find spec for E6550, and I'm sure E6550 can support SSE4 technology.

1. For DirectX 10 you MUST have Vista
2. If you have Vista, update DirectX 10 to latest revision, see my previous post with attachment of Direct X web downloader, its on this page.
