I don't have any problems with DX9 or DX10 using gsdx1.8. I posted earlier with the wrong version of the .dll file (was x64, oops). But I checked the CRC with the .dll from Microsoft SDK and the link on the first page is correct.

Ok, I have found more or less the problem, at least in my case.

It crashed in dx10 mode when I just copied the additional linked DLLs

But after I installed the june 2008 directx redist, it works perfectly.

So I was obviously missing another needed file. Which , from the number of posts, seems a common occurrence. Just install the directx redist of june and the problem is gone.

@Gabest: you may want to link that directx redist file instead of the dlls

Recommended: DirectX 10 level video card, Windows Vista is a must ?

I have windows xp x64--> look at my signature. Will it run anyway or do I have to have it for Vista ?

To run direct x 10 you have to have vista. You can still run GSDX but only with direct x 9.

It will crash once it tries to execute a SSE4 instruction. Try software rendering, that uses a lot.

That's cool. I guess I can continue until Windows 7 is coming. Thanks.

(Probably a stupid) Question:

Should we delete the older d3dx9 dll files from the PCSX2 folders?
Logic tells me "Yes dumbass, the plugin should only use the latest one!" but I just want to make sure.
