The sw renderer is about twice as fast as in the last release. Not sure if that's good news or not, maybe when it hits 60fps, still a bit far :P

would that work with a x32 build of pcsx2 ?
the x64 one is slower than the x32 by the way.

Software renderer,which as the name suggests does all the rendering in software (using your cpu) without using your graphics card.

I could. But I don't have a working x64 pcsx2 setup on my machine now, to test if it really works. Replays crash sometimes.

Just tested 724. It's precisely 2 times fps increase with software renderer. And no increas with hardware renderer.
So, Gabest, as I already asked, do you need dump from Gran Turismo 4 517.19? As far as I remember you wanted to see NTSC version's dump..

i heard its much harder to write a software renderer instead using the GFX card for rendering.

but the graphics are more correct and less glitchy as with hardware acceleration.

btw:
why can't i use DX10 software?
i get an error initalisize GS plugin when using DirectX 10 Software renderer.
DX10 is installed, but is a DX10 hardware really required when using software renderer?

or is there something with the detection:
if select DX10 ++ Hardware =! DX10 then
return -1
close

whatever...

Well, I have installed Windows XP x64 and pcsx2 x64 today. But it only has ZeroGS plugin, and it can't play Metal Slug 6 while the x86 version can play so good. Expecting your GSdx x64 version.

Umm there is no such thing as DirectX10 software renderer....since as I explained software renderer does not use your graphics card,thus DirectX of any version is not used as well.
You won't be able to use any kind of DX10 features anyway since your graphics card is only capable of DX9.

but isn't there something in the directX10 software to improve the software renderer?

ok the only thing for software renderer i know is/was directDraw.
