Finally fixed my strange slowdowns with FF12 / GSDX and my Radeon HD 4850: Sold the Radeon @ ebay and bought a GeForce GTX 260
All fine now! ^_^

well....i had a geforce 8800 gts 320 mb
final fantasy 12 ran fine

i upgraded to a radeon HD 4850 and suddenly ff12 had slowdowns at battles with multiple enemies or in big cities (rabanastre).

i never got this problem fixed (tried multiple drivers, plugins, whatever...)

now i bought a geforce gtx 260 and everything is fine again.

my guess is, that pcsx2 (especially gsdx) is not optimized for ati/amd graphics cards...

No. HD4800 cards offload works onto the CPU, thus... causing insane bottlenecks on dual-core processors. A quad-core would also have fixed your problem.

I think I should put that in my signature...

You are wrong.
It is a well known ATI-drivers problem. They are not optimized for everything. Laggy, baggy and unstable.

Dragon ball Z Infinite World

Anyone got dbz: infinite world working full speed? when i play it slows down when the battle starts; annoying.

i am using pcsx2 0.9.4, with gsdx 0.1.7 (fastest for this game), zero spu2 0.4.6 and cdvd 0.1.0.

so any tips?

did you read the rules as you entered the official pcsx2 board or just skip most of it?

Having trouble using any of the Hardware modes (dx9/10). Start the game and gfx card will jump to 3d clocks like expected but after say 20-30 secs the clocks plummet back down to 2d speeds causing massive slow down.

Here are my specs :
e6750 @ 3.4Ghz
DFI Blood-Iron P35
4GB PC2-8500
GTX 260 SC

Nvidia Drivers : 180.42
Vista x64

Could this be a gsdx problem or is it something else?

thats a driver issue, or a temperature issue, check both.
