How about you guys either make a thread elsewhere about licenses or I start giving out infractions for spamming.

Yeah I know that. The main menu is the problem. In game is okay. I thought that you are not experiencing that problem. Im using PS 3.0. So the weir colors are found on the ff games. (in my case) SRW Series (During conversations) FFX (During FMV) |

did you try forcing on AA in the video card driver and seeing it works with the GSdx plugin? Anyways, AA is very expensive (performance wise), and many games are having trouble running on the G200 chips at the moment. So AA is not a practical option at the moment. |

There is a thread in the PCSX2 forums where it is described how to enable AA on nVidia graphics cards. Of course it'd be better if it was implemented in GSdx but iirc gabest already stated that AA support isn't one of the things he'd add near-term. Quote:

from the pics that users have submitted by forcing AA on/off, there's barely any noticeable difference. so its not like AA is going to make GSdx look much better.

it makes sense. The need for AA depends on the game design, how are items shaped, etc. Since PS2 has no AA capablities, all textures and items were shaped so that there is minimal juggedness without AA. In the latest Doom game (i think it was doom) AA was so integral that the game looked like utter crap without it. I NEVER use AA, and in that game I actually lowered my resolution significantly just to have any AA. |

PS2 has it own edge antialiasing method, it's different from d3d's, but I'm gonna implement it some day for the software renderer, just to see how it looks. There are many games using it. Even ffx.

maybe it isn't really noticable on CRT TV's in the time when the previous generation consoles came out (PS2,XBox,GC) i heard that they support Antialiasing, but i never really noticed that they use it. for DirectX AA, there is no native antialiasing support for apps and games wich using rendertargets, it must be enabled in the code. otherwise there is the way with the compatiblity modes of the driver, it works only with DX9 at the moment, not with all games, but it works with gdsx ![]() but a hardcoded native AA support for DX9 and 10 in gsdx would be really nice

I could never find out how to enable antialiasing for render targets in dx9, changing it directly for the driver through display settings may be the only way, but it is possible to do programmatically in dx10. There are antialiased lines in the bios right at the first scene, those trails. |

it does not work with the nvidia panel alone. you need a tool called nhancer for this, link to the tutorial is in my sig. as i said, this method works only with DX9, not 10. and DX9 is slow in vista, at least for me...
