your game runs slow because of your weak processor.

and this is the GSdx thread; don't talk about stuff that has nothing to do with GSdx in this thread!

Just tried 1680x1050 with Resident Evil Outbreak File #2 and it worked great. Tried Final Fantasy XII again and it crashed right when it got to the Square Enix logo. Here is the error report I got:

When I use use the previous version of GSDx it does not crash with that internal resolution. If it matters; I am using Directx 10 in hardware mode on a ATi 4850 with a e2180 @ 3.2GHz

0.19 broke 65fps average in GT4 for me. Nice job, Gabest!

And for those who say that HD 4800 series have issues... I confirm none.

Well I don't think its a good idea to word it like that.... as thats not entirely true... even your according to your very own posts in another thread.

Its only a none issue on quadcores and likely tricores as well. Poorer than expected performance still when teaming that card up with dualcore cpus.

The problem seems likely to be the same one that was affecting HD 3000 series. HD4000 series seems to puts some of the workload on the cpu which the geforce series on the otherhand does not.

The additional core(s) beyond 2 are able to handle the additional workload placed on them by the 4xxx series, as pcsx2 taxes the initial 2 cores to the max and cannot spare any cpu cycles for any other task without a drop in pcsx2 performance.

True enough, but here's the issue in reality: usage about 30% on additional cores, all 4 cores running at 3.6GHz. So maybe it does stress the additional cores a bit, but with a dual-core like E8400 for instance... running at 4.2GHz or so, it should be able to saturate the difference in performance.

And I wouldn't complain about the additional workload, since it net me an additional 10fps in GT4, which seems likely a GPU-limited title. On GeForce cards, although the additional cores won't be stressed, frame rates aren't as nice.

So needless to say, this is like... PCSX2 fully utilizing a quad-core, in a way. And it suddenly makes an HD4000 series card so much more crucial for a quad-core system, if you ever want to run PCSX2 on it. And then this turns from an issue with low-end systems... to a blessing for high-end systems. Now you won't have anything to complain about when you buy a quad-core only for PCSX2.

(In case you haven't noticed, 71fps. ;p With a GeForce 9800GTX, although the workload isn't stressing the CPU, it's only getting like 61fps or so. Actually 50fps with the last SVN. And note again, upgrading from 9600GT to 9800GTX on GeForce does nothing at all)

54% total, +4% only, 2%/core, but maybe that is enough to not stall it.

I just wanted to report that with the latest version I am finally able to get into the BIOS without having to use ZeroGS... It looks blurry, but it works.

Thank you. Keep going.

Yeah... I thought that 5 was a 3... (need new glasses...)
Anyway, that is apparently helping a lot more than I thought it would.

1024 x 1024 internal res GT4.

Gradius 5 still has the motion blur effect bug (cutscene at the second level), its actually worse then it was in 0.1.8. There texturing bug in the ranking screen also remains, though its not as bad as it was in 0.1.8.

Neither happens in software mode, the latter does not happen in dx9 mode (in 0.1.8 - didn't test dx9 with 0.1.9).

also, still no OSD and selectable fullscreen resolution in dx10 mode =(

ZeroGS works just fine...

For me GT4 still crashes when you try to do a race (which wasn`t occuring 2 gsdx svn versions ago). The game runs perfect until you go to start a race. The camera does the usual switch to camera points around the vehicle and then the game crashes.
