how come game keeps flashing?
If you have the NTSC version of the game, turn off VUskip and use gsdx 1.8, but if you have the PAL version then set the internal resolution to native

ok, it seems like you have the PAL version? Coz the NTSC version doesnt blink like that, try to press F5 ingame to toggle between the interlacing modes, or Shift+F5, works most of the time in "blinking" games

try pressing F4.

you might be on VU-skip or frameskip.

keep pressing F4 to switch the mode.

Is there any way to fix the ff 12 (german pal version) fmv flickering?
Every couple of seconds the fmv blacks out for a split second - so it's like flickering...

pcsx latest build, gsdx 0.18, direct x9

Tried already playing with interlace modes, but no luck so far...

hm no, try enabling that video hack thing under config/speedhacks.
otherwise use an older build.

because you don't have the directX june update,
or you used the SSSE3 or SSE4 version of GSdx.

your processor don't support SSSE3 or SSE4. use the SSE2 version instead.

First of all, thanks for the help.
Secondly,I checked my config and I'm on normal.I tried hitting F4 while in-game,but still,it kept blinking like hell.Guess I will have to wait for the next update.

Gibs, try the gsdx 0.1.3 version of the plugin! It doesn't blink and doesn't have any negative influence speedwise in this particular game

mmh tried both now...does not really fix it.
(speed hack actually slows down the whole game - but still flickering FMVs)

well with zero gs there is no fmv flickering but the 3d graphics look way to pixelated/blurred (native ps2 res). (with "antialaising" option the FMVs get totally messed up)

so i have the choice between good FMVs and crappy 3d or great 3d (gsdx) but flickering FMVs.

i guess i go for good 3d and bad fmvs then.... (hey and i could always switch to my ps2 )

if anyone has another suggestion how to get rid of the flickering....it would be appreciated^^

Wow plugin looking great. I have also noticed that running in software mode produces almost 100% perfect graphics in many games that otherwise have horrible graphics. It seems strange that this would happen but still a cool side-effect.

Maybe you could look into CUDA on nvidia GPUS to extrapolate the software threads to the GPU therby increasing speed by huge amounts.
