Looks like new GSdx10 fixes RE4 texture issue.
First four screens with GSdx9 0.11
5th & 6th with GSdx10 0.1.0
Textures on the walls and other objects also fixed.
Thanks Gabest.

you guys that have vista can you give some FPS comparisons w/ GSdx10 vs GSdx9 (fps wise)?

if there is a substantial difference in speed i might install vista, but its really a pain in the ass to do so i want to know if its worth it

Thanks Xcedf, so it seems no actual PC can run this game at a playable speed.

Seeing RE4 and other examples, it seems imho, that Gsdx10 heralds a new dawn in precision.

specs: see sig
config:
PCSX2 0.9.5 rev 227 |All recompilers,MTGS,DC
GSdx10 0.1 |no interlace,4:3,1024x1024,filtering in black check state
GSdx9 0.11 |no interlace,4:3,1024x1024,filtering in black check state
SSSPSX PAD 1.6
Linuzappz Iso 0.7
ZeroSPU2 0.4.4 | time scaling
USA 1.6 BIOS
USB/dev9/FWnull

games:
FFX: GSdx9 renders ~10fps more
FFXII: idk, pcsx2 crashes on loading save game :|
Resident Evil 4: GSdx10 renders 5-10fps more
Disgaea: GSdx10 is a little faster...hard to tell...runs so fast anyways
ICO (Intro scene): GSdx9 is a teeny bit faster - maybe 2fps?

BIOS (System Configuration>Display): GSdx10 is ~40fps faster! (told you it really helps with the BIOS )

So, if it's worth it is still up to you, keep in mind this is only the very beginning of GSdx10 - look how far GSdx9 has come....
Also, a 8600gts isn't the best when it comes to DX10...I'd be interested to see some numbers like this from a 8800GTX or GT...

g'night

Sigh..
All the people reporting that it's faster/more accurate are tempting me to remove XP and put Vista right now :/

shuffle2, thanks a bunch for the comparsions.

i'm wondering though if the speed is comming from being GPU bound or not.
i have a fairly powerful GPU (8800gts) but a weak cpu (4400+ x2) so i'm wondering if this will help me out as much.

i too am interested if anybody else with an 8800 has tried this to see the results.
so people please continue to share your comparison benchmarks please

I have an 8800 and although unable to give specific benchmarked results, FFXII is running a lot smoother now, 5-7fps over Gsdx9 easily.

Well, what really matters in terms of speed comparison is how well GSdx10 on Vista performs
against GSdx9 on XP. It doesn't matter if people report a 10% increase using Vista,
when GSdx9 on XP runs 40% faster

I'd really appreciate it if someone could compare these two setups.

Thumbs up

On my 2GHz with geforce 8600MGS 512Mo, Dragon Ball Z Budokai 3 looks very good (not like gsdx9) and speedy 30FPS, playable !!!!

I imagine on a Pentium 3GHZ and Geforce of the dead .... 60FPS

My PC:

Conroe E6550 @ 3.15
2 GB DDr2 800
P5n-e sli
Geforce 8600GT XXX
Sound Blaster Audigy
Windows Vista Ultimate 64 bits + Vista SP1 Beta Build 6001.17042.071107-1618

Here in the Vista run 50% better that in XP, ICO and DBZ Tenkaichi 3 runs at 100% in the vista with plugin dx10 against 40 - 50% in same games in vista with dx9 plugin, as much in the zero how much in gsdx.

Sorry my english bad.

You can but then you have to create a new partition or install Vista on the XP partition and that wouldn't be the best thing you can do^^

Last time I installed them both I had to format my HDD to get rid of Vista because it became the primary HDD @ the end....

Damn guys I have to get a DX10 card-.- something like 8800GT *lala* if they just weren't sold that expensive because of the "lack" these cards have in germany^^

Well, they don't need to, since original Vista copies here do not exist in suitable prices, so I use the copy everyone in High School has
And even if it was, I wouldn't be buying Vista anytime soon. The only reason I am keeping Windows is to play around with PCSX2 every once in a while, since it's Linux support is not yet there (graphics plugin, no plugin with gamepad support,..) But once that's fixed, you won't catch me using Windows anytime soon

Yeah, that's the downside of having only one HDD/partition. I don't have Vista myself, but I do have a dual boot of XP 32 and 64 so I can run my non-compatible 32/16-bit stuff without [as many] problems and my PC isn't exactly a PCSX2 "dream machine" either :P

You mean for the latest version? Yeah, I can understand that :P
