Here's a demonstration. ![]() As you can see the 1st time I turn around it works when I press down the other button after I've pressed the first key (both are being hold down at same time) but the 2nd time when I press down the other button before I unleash the other key it doesn't recognise the input and just stops. But as you can see everything else works fine like running in circles or using diagonal movements. This applies to both KH1 and FF12 so it prolly applies to all games. It's not such a big deal but it would feel a lot smoother if it turned around all the time without having to unleash the other key first.

Another Release
Hi guys! It's been a month since the First release Here is another release of TwinPad, it's now v0.4.0 ![]() Now If you compare the Source of PadWinK and TwinPad they are nearly 70% different. Changes with this Release: ==================== - Added DirectInput 8 Keyboard Interface for the Plugin & GUI (Yes DirectInput8 cause I don't have DirectX9 SDK )- Due to DirectInput, Now Larger set of Keys can be configured Even Non-Standard 101-Keyboard (Hopefully )unlike before, for example, now you can use L-Control, R-Control as different keys, It seems working. - Added Special Key, you can configure it in the GUI, that Works combined with ( - Minus or = Equals ) Keys, to make movements Smoother, tested it in the Following games: FF12, Devil May Cry3, Tekken 5 (Loading Screen --Still not so smooth) for example if you configure it with CAPs Lock, and pressed (Caps & -) will make the character to Walk, if pressed (Caps & =) will make character to Run. - Again! Old Configurations will be lost, please ReConfigure after update Due to DirectInput Code values differ from Ascii codes in earlier versions. - RPGW1ZaRD as you suggested! the Movements now a lot smootherthat means, if you press UP then press DOWN+UP it will go Down, Release DOWN it will GO UP. same goes to RIGHT and LEFT. All I had to do, is Adding DirectInput8 support. (after I have learnt it passed few days )Note: ===== Reserved Keys are: ESCAPE, F1 --through-- F15, MINUS, EQUALS. I could let you use L-Alt, R-Alt, but since the Emu tend to crash alot (Not by me hopefull ) but if I do that you may lose Control of yourKeyboard untill you restart. So I forgot the Idea of using Alt Keys. Since I don't have Japanese keyboard, I don't know if Kana or Kanji will work, But they are supported. (Same goes to non-standard 101 Keys), I don't know if mapping between DirectInput and Virtual Keys will be lost. so, if Any1 can test this! please inform your results here. EDIT: Sorry for reviving old thread, but since this thread is being redirected by several threads, I thought it would be helpfull. Special thanx to RPGW1ZaRD, because of you I learnt DirectInput and thc > For Showing me Kosmos Error thread.. Thanx all Last edited by Rebel_X; December 19th, 2006 at 16:49. |

This plugin is perfect now, THX sooo much for taking your time to make this plugin! Now I won't use any other input plugin anymore. And so quickly you've made this plugin, and you're thanking me LOL. Man awesome work it works wonderfully now I can use any keys on my keyboard, the movements are uber smooth, you can even AT LEAST hold down 4 buttons at same time and it will recognise the inputs. I tested FF12 moving in diagonal directions with left analog stick keys while moving the camera angle with the right analog stick keys at same time without any probs at all! And character turns around perfectly now all the time. Now even aiming using analog stick with RE4 works perfect too, I finished this game with SSSPSX pad and couldn't use zoom when using rifle and at times the aiming felt a bit delayed but this plugin works PERFECT, it's so nice, no need for other input plugins now. You made this emulator a lot more enjoyable now for those that doesn't have any joypads for the computer and are stuck with keyboard, Thx! ![]() EDIT: Well I found one little bug when pressing ESC sometimes the emulator quits directly without the GUI appearing at all and sometimes it appears little box saying "DirectInput Keyboard initialization failed". Happens only like 2/10 times tho.

ffx
The right analogue stick doesn't seem to work for me in ffx.. Using v0.3.0 because I get run time error '429' ActiveX can't create object in v0.4.0, with vista. If it works in v0.4.0 and someone could say, that'd be great ^^. Edit: Oh.. it does work sorry, I just wasn't using my common sense. I'd tested it on lulu's overdrive. You have to hold the last key with it so it continues the actual rotation I guess. So (1 - UP) (2 - RIGHT) (3 - DOWN) (4 - LEFT) would be.. 1, 1+2, 2, 2+3, 3, 3+4, 4, 4+1, then 1. The video'd post by RPGW1ZaRD is similarish to this I guess, so does that mean this wouldn't happen in v0.4.0? If so, any ideas how to stop that error I'm getting so I can use that version? Great plugin though, thanks for putting in the time to make it work. Last edited by Pottedrice; December 20th, 2006 at 01:19. |

DirectX 9c uses DirectInput 8.1 (AFAIK Vista includes DX 9c), I just think he'll have to get new SDK and new compiler (VS 2003+)

I've also noticed another a bit sad thing with this latest version, it's more demanding than the other plugins now, v0.1.0 and v0.2.0 was just as fast as the others tho but this latest plugin slows down quite a lot, from 7~15% slower running depending on game. ![]() Slows down more when both pad1 and pad2 are selected for this plugin, if only pad1 is selected with this plugin it doesn't slow down as much but still lower than the other plugins... oh well it's not that much of a deal, it's matter of a few fps when running at around full speed or below.

Quick Update
I hate to talk about problems that can occur with DirectX because there are so many of them. They aren't bugs, but simply manifestations of running in a cooperative OS like Windows. One such problem that can occur with DirectInput is due to a device getting yanked from you or acquired by another application. So Here is another update. Changes: ======= - I think, I made a mistake in the Code, making it slower I think, and so sometimes you got the error of "DirectInput Initialization Connection failed" I've got a work around this problem, didn't notice it appear again after 6 hours of playing, running the emu for more than 100 times.. so hopefully this is solved, thancs RPGW1ZaRD again. and thc for notifying me on the bug. - Added the old Mouse support again, as I got it improved a lot, Now I have tested it, for 6 games, it's much nicer than before. for example, the loading screen in Tekken 5, the Cross Hair for the Space Ship follows the mouse all the time, walking Characters in games like FF12 also good ![]() - If you have a keyboard that have F13 -- 15, you can assign it in the GUI. Note: ==== Using mouse with Analog keys, works fine, but maybe conflicts with each other, but didn't notice anything else, its just like 2 fingers in the touch pad which one will take control?? As I mentioned in my very earlier post, I am still a newbie at DirectX programming, ![]() if Pad2 slows things down, disable it from PCSX2 configs, I didn't notice any probs with speed in this version ![]() I am goooing to sleep now ciao.. Edit: Update Corrected Mouse Right Click, download again. Last edited by Rebel_X; December 22nd, 2006 at 10:16. |

lol you're the man, slowdown is gone (just as fast as the other plugins now even when both pad1 and pad2 is selected with twinpad) and the quit error (tried about 20 times and didn't appear once) and even added better mouse support. And you've only been gone for some day and appear with a new version again. I hope you take a break now. Do you have Paypal? That's my way of showing appriciation for good work.**EDIT:** Mouse support seems to work fine now too but there's one thing I'd like to point out, when pressing right mouse button in PadwinKeyb plugin it used the right analog stick but seems this plugin only utilizes the left analog stick and doesn't happen anything when pressing the right mouse button. So in FF12 you can't rotate the camera using the mouse for example.

silver_wings - For lulu's overdrive you have to hold the last key to continue the analogue circulation If you could have a look at thc's suggestion about recompiling I'd be very grateful, otherwise I'll just keep using your v0.3.0. Wish I could test the update =[. Thanks for releasing it anyway. |

Awesome now it works. Damn you've got the mouse support pretty good I must say, I can even walk around in FF12 using the mouse and walk in the direction I want it to go. Totally impossible with PadWinKeyb. PadWinKeyb had way too high sensitivity for the mouse analog sticks, this plugin has much lower sensitivity though so it works fine, although it's almost a bit too low now, aiming in RE4 goes really really slow and also camera swings around pretty slow in FF12 for example but you can't ask for everything and besides mouse support is just a bonus anyways. ![]() My final feature suggestion for this plugin if you ever wanna try improve it even more is adjustable mouse sensitivty in the config, other than that it's perfect in every possible way I can think of.
