Connected to a TV
I have no issue with that, but my television is much bigger, and I already use the Linux box as a DVR connected to my TV, so it was only natural to be able to play my PS2 games on it, without having to mess around with different inputs on my TV. If it runs too slow, it's no big deal, I'll just run my PS2 like I do now. I just know that PCSX2 was one of the few emulators that worked on both Windows and Linux, and I thought I'd give it a shot. So far, things have been very easy to configure and run, I'm just having and issue with the GS plugin in Linux. It seems I'm not the only one encountering it, and if I could fix it, maybe others would benefit.

Use Logarithmic Z and Alpha correction, nloop and texture filtering greyed out. Interlacing is about preference.

I just registered to say thanks for the plugin! It works great. Core 2 Duo E6750 Radeon X800 Series (128MB ) (not Pro)I'm using those hardware, with the CPU at stock speed and the GPU OCed a little, and I get 60 FPS at almost all times in Final Fantasy X with no AA or bilinear filtering on. This is on XP Pro x86. So although you recommend X1K series ATI cards or better, it can run very well on a high-end X*** card, at least with a good processor. So thanks!

Playable means it can be played from start to finish, regardless of FPS, crash's, and graphical errors.

Both plugins have advantages and disadvantages, it just happens that Gsdx will get you more FPS in more cases than ZeroGS will. At least that's what I've seen. I too am very grateful for ZeroGS when playing final fantasy 12. |
