Strange.. And what about 0.10.4? This version works with MTGS and DC disabled?
I have noticed that GSdx9 10.5 is not working unless MTGS and DC mode are on.
Is there any error message?

BTW, why do you want to disable this modes? You are using Dual Core processor, you will get a nice perfomance boost. Or you have any compability issues with this modes enabled in some games? I have only one PS2 game, but there is no problemes with it when TGS and DC are on. It works fine with mine Opteron 165. I hope you are using the latest version of emu?

Apologies if this has been asked before, but can GSdx9v10 support frameskipping? (It reverts to "normal" every time GSdx9 is used.)

P.S. Is there a way to get the forum search to jump to specific posts that contain the searched keywords instead of just the threads? (Some threads like this one are 54 pages long.)

Yea, I asked about this on previous page. It would be great to addsuch feature: frameskiping turns on when framerate is below 50 (60) and turns off when framerate exceeds this framerate.

Hi Dragonheart.by

GSdx9 0.10.1, 0.10.2, 0.10.3, 0.10.4 are working fine even if MTGS and DC modes are on or off ... but GSdx9 0.10.5 is not working unless these modes are both on.

The PCSX2 crashs (vmhack) when GSdx9 0.10.5 starts to render a texture with DC mode is turned off.

Just bad luck ...

In FFXII it looks like it has built in AA and BF (characters, etc.) This could be one of the problems that causes the plug in to render fps slower than ZeroGS. I'm not complaining about the speed but I'd like to point out that to the people that doesn't pay attention...and wonder what makes GSdx9 10.x looks so good XD.

As you can see it works fine on other PCs. So it looks like the problem in your system. But if the problem is in your system, then it should be in other versions too... Gabest, did you make some changes to multithreading algorithm of new version?

BTW, saifooz, which OS you are using?

The first two images are of ZeroGS with BF & AAx8 and the last two are GSDX9 10.5. I'd hate to request something, but Gabest could you make an option to save the images as jpeg instead of bmp? Forum doesn't like people trying to upload 4.0MB bmp images. But anyway, both plugins run roughly the same speed with Gabest's beating Zero's by 2-3fps in Suikoden 3(where the images are from). Oh and another side note, AAx4 and AAx8 look roughly the same in Suikoden 3, just less jaggies on buildings and that kind of stuff. But it doesn't choke my X1950Pro with AAx8 when the character is moving on foot in the areas.

Edit: (server was acting funky for a moment) Directed to Tuanming mostly, Look closely at image 1 and 4, then you'll get your AA and BF answer. Then look at the blonde haired guy with the red scarf, kinda looks the same at a distance doesn't he?

Maybe your VGA doesn't handle PS2.0?

Gabest, I wonder if the settings for Direct3D in driver (especially AA and AF) have any impact on picture rendering of GSdx9?

no, GSDX9 doesn't support frameskipping.
Only ZeroGS does this.

Yea, but frameskiping with ZeroGS is too agressive. For example I often used frameskiping in PS1 emulators and the gameplay was smooth nevertheless. Bur here with ZeroGS it looks like whole seconds are skiping. BTW, why the frameskiping is now activating in the emu, not in the GS plugin?

I guess its because the emulator is doing the frameskipping, not the gs.

I'd assume that since a lot of games is CPU limited, it makes sense to skip frames to offload the CPU??

Graphic quality comparison between ZeroGS and GSdx9 0.10.5:

ZeroGS 0.97

GSdx9 0.10.5

Indeed, you must be right. But why then new versions of GS plugins bring better perfomance? So it looks like even rendering takes some CPU power and skiped frames allow emu to use more CPU time for other thinks neither PS2 GPU emulation. So it looks like there is a little sence in framekiping.
Gabest, can you add frameskiping feature into your plugin? Frameskiping in PCSX2 works terrible (if compare modes in zeroGS). FPS is the same but the gameplay is really laggy. So even if you will add support for PCSX2 frameskiping there is no sence in using it. Can you add you own algorithm of frameskiping into your plugin? And in general, tell us please what are you thinking about frameskiping? In PSX times it worked fine in Pete's plugins for example, it helped people with old machines to get additioonal perfomance boost...I think this feature is actual now becouse many games won't run at playable framerates even on top PC configurations.

I wanted to try the new Gsdx out after I read some nice things about it but it seems to always crash, even with MTGS and DC on like some people suggested.
Also tried it with both off, or one of the two on and the other off, but doesn't help, it always crashes. Atleast in the 10-5 build, don't know about the others.

And it's just the same in TLB build.

Did you put d3dx9_34.dll in PCSX2 root folder?

I didn't used your new version of your great Plugin, yet, neither the new PCSX2, but I'm a big fan of your project(s) and I like the improvements and the speed you are working on your plugin lately, so thanks for all Gabest!
