As ref said, the ppf is higher on the second pic in ff, that may be the reason. Try to compare scenes where it is equal. The current update speeds up vertex upload, so the best places would be where there are high polygon count and few (or mostly cached) textures. |

gabest thanks so much! R4 is awsome. now i can run in fullscreen with 16:9 aspect ratio! i also like that i can switch the blending modes and the osd that shows the FPS. if i can make a small suggestion to the OSD lol, it would be nice if you can put the "F5: interlace F6: aspect ratio F7: OSD" all on one line, so it dosn't get in the way of the game. cuz i like to play with the OSD on, so i can know the fps i'm getting. (and sorry if i'm being an a**hole with all the requests) Quote:

but on most scenes i'm getting exact the same framerate. edit: another example: first screen is R3, second is R4 i used the same savegame, and captured on the same time if you see the frame: 1350. both with Pixelshader 3.0. The Colors in R4 are nicer, maybe because of the new implemented vertex shaders. but the fps in R3 is still higher.

Wish FRAPS worked with GSdx9 that shows a more avg fps number so it would be easier to compare, to make accurate performance comparisions now you have to match the exact same polgyn count in a spot which is a bit tricky.

I don't know what's causing it.alt-f4 works for me, but better would be if pcsx2 correctly closed down the gs with a nice GSclose call. Last edited by gabest; November 14th, 2007 at 14:07.. Reason: Automerged Doublepost |

hey gabest i used your plugin gsdx 3 and it slowed down alot of fps. when i use the old ones in kingdom hearts is 34fps playing when i use the new plugin its drop like 22 or 18 fps. But when u release the gsdx9-4 when i put it the game it says VM hack and in tyhe tlb it crashes. What is the cause of this? THX IN ADVANCE |

I can exit fullscreen via Esc and Alt+f4, but I have to press them blindly since pcsx2 hangs up in fullscreen - it doesnt exit from gsdx, its just stuck there with the frozen fullscreen. Zerogs also does that often though. Alt+tab always crashes when using gsdx, while in Zerogs, switching from fullscreen to windowed mode has a 50-50 chance of hanging up the same way. By the way, if we are talking about small fixes... Well, I don't know how small it is, but Disgaea has that alpha/sorting bug, as well as seemingly minor misalignment in textures. (and small sprite hiccups as well, during battles) See the attached screenshots. One is the portal showing the alpha/sorting, as well as minor artifacts around the letters. On the other picture, I'm running software mode, which doesn't exhibit these errors... but of course, its unplayably slow without the videocard acceleration. Also the cosmetical issue of gsdx displaying 60fps as 200% speed, although that doesnt effect anything since pcsx2 itself limits to 60fps. Disgaea 2 also exhibits the same problems, except for the fps display (but it also looks very good with the gsdx deinterlace modes!). |

Fraps (fps counter) does not show up in the 10.4 anymore. Pressing F6 still doesn't make any difference! I don't trust the built in fps counter...

Well, I'm always getting a black screen when runnning a game with R4 and pixel shader 2.0. Do I have to enable ps 3.0? R3 just worked fine with both 2.0 and 3,0

.Hack GU runs somewhat the same, but just like the other versions, background textures seem to cycle from: full > transparant > black and back. (they sometimes do go back from black ). Somehow all characters and other models don't seem to have this problem.Speed has been greatly improved since ver.0.9.0, and I've tested ver.0.10.0 till .4 with all the games I own and I'm very much impressed indeedy!!! Just wanted to say, this is an amazing GS plugin, I'm looking forward to test more. You are one of the best GFX Coding Magicians of our time.. Keep up the great work! N
