I'm glad I was right after all.

You know, what would be interesting to try is if hdloader works with a v14+ bios file, the ones which the hdd and network chip was redesigned to remove hd support.

Well... I only have SCPH-70004 (V14) and SPCH-39001 BIOSes. HDLoader works with both of them, but when I use the SCPH-70004, it'll always prompt for formatting.

BTW, I'm so good that I didn't forget to credit you in the MegaDev9 thread.

NHerve is it possible in the future to correct this problem with SCPH - 70004. My official bios is a SCPH - 70004 .

I was also wondering how can ppl play ffXI ... if they have a ps2 slim ? i thought the game must have a HD

well they have HDD support,
at least the versions till V13/V14 afaik, you can solder a HDD connector on the mainboard.

Not really true.

Hdd and network were handled by the same chip until v12/13 (the only slim versions able to use hdconnect/combo). From v14 on the chip was changed to only handle network function, so all possibility to add an ide hdd was removed, and that's most likely also the reason why it won't work on a v14 bios and i'd bet it would be the same for newer revisions.
