Majora's Mask Save problem

Hi everyone!

I have a small problem with Zelda MM.
I heard, that after beating Majoras Mask, and after the ending sequence, you should be able to save your game, so that you still have the fierce deitys mask upon loading the save file (to use the mask in other boss rooms).
But with PJ64 i can't seem to save the game at the end.
The last screen I see is "the end" after the screen with carving on the log (with link, skullkid...). But I don#t get the option to save the game..

Does anybody know what I shall do?
Of course I can also use the cheat to get the mask ingame...... but if it's possible to save.....

Save between the times you get the Fierce Deitys's Mask and the ending screen. You can't save after you beat the game.

Oh and don't save with cheats on as that will corrupt your save.

With me, I don't have the patience to complete a game without cheats. But If I don't have the cheats to skip through the game, then I just play it. Weird, huh?

errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr rrrrrrrrrrrrr

this is a very interesting issue actually.

i remember destinctly, getting the fierce diety mask, and it being there after i played song of time. (on both the original n64 and pj64)

sounds like something else is at play here.
