N64 USB controller on Vista
Hey all, I just bought a cheap usb adapter off ebay and am trying to use with an official n64 controller. I searched the forums for about an hour, but coulnd't find anything like this. I am on windows vista and using the default driver that installed when I plugged the thing in. When I go to the calibration screen, the buttons go crazy and everything just keeps being pressed off and on even though I'm not touching the controller. I'm guessing this has to do with the adapter that I'm using...any suggestions? Thanks. [EDIT]: After another hour of research, I found a solution. For all those with the same problem: The PSX + N64 Boom Adapter is very cheap and will not work with older versions of the nintendo 64 controller. However, for some reason, it works with newer n64 controllers regardless if they work fine on the system or not. Adaptoid adapters seem to work with all the n64 controller and are your best bet.
