Paper Mario Flickering Problem
Ok, I've tried everything. Glide Wonder++ plugin crashes very often, Rices video plugin shows corruption, and Jabos plugin does the flickering problem. Anyone know of a good video plugin to use and what settings I should have on to run this game correctly? I have a Geforce FX 5900 PCI-express card.

currently there are no graphic plugin that emulates the game well you want one that does? donate $20 to the project 64 1.7 team for the beta The new plugin fixes the flickering problem.

This plugin from Project 64 1.7 still generates the flickering problem: Jabo's Direct3D8 1.7.0.50 Aug 10 2006 Confirmed by a friend that has the beta... although he says it might only be in toad town. Last edited by Wonder; March 22nd, 2007 at 11:44.. |

sounds like you/your 'friend' is using the leaked beta if he donated to get the beta then why use the old build of Jabo plugin? When the latest one was released in Feb 2007 and plays PAPER MARIO pretty well.

Yeah I'm not sure, and no I'm currently using Project 64 1.6. I asked a buddy from a different forum who says he's a beta tester to play the game and see if he gets the flicker on the new version. How do you know what a leaked version has unless you got it yourself? ![]() Either way, since I can't run it any other way thanks for the reassurance that if I do donate $20 to Project 64 that I'll be able to play this game. because I donated I get access to new beta releases as soon as they come out and latest build of JABO came out Feb 2007 last I checked. The latest Jabo build is not the one your mate is using because If he was a beta tester why use an old build? Your mate said he was using a new version He's must be using the leak. Check this out

Ah I see, good call.. well I don't really blame him for using a leak. I know it's a touchy subject on emulator message boards where you want to support the devs but I would assume at least 50% of the people here are using pirated roms and images. Update: I'm using the new version and it's working great, thanks. Last edited by Wonder; March 22nd, 2007 at 22:25.. |

If not, try this. The wrapper is now much more friendly on low-end video cards when using framebuffers, and craploads of other stuff is fixed (now Resident Evil 2 is playable when using this wrapper) (NOTE:to enable HWFBE for RE2 on OGL cards, open Glide64.ini, find the [Resident Evil II] section and set fb_smart = 1.)...Attached in the pack is also a updated program made by me personally to check the capabilties of your card..... hopefully, this will fix your Glide64 problems. |

I don't get it. PJ 1.6, Jabo's D3D8 1.6, and my GeForce 7600 GT emulate the game perfectly. No flicker, no issues whatsoever. EDIT: No, I'm wrong, I see the flickering in -some- areas. It really isn't that bad though, the game is definitely playeable. EDIT2: Glide alleviates it. Last edited by felinusz; March 27th, 2007 at 16:34.. |

Personally, i didnīt have much of a problem with the flickering. Sure, when it was most noticeable, i got a little ticked off...But it wasnīt there ALL the time, so it sure didnīt keep me from enjoying the game.

Theres no flickering in the latest Jabo plugin either,... but you'all will have to wait to use it.
