Where does black bordering come from?

In some games the frames of the screen are black which makes the game screen smaller. Does anyone know where that comes from?

That's the overscan area; normally hidden beyond the edges of the tv screen. Some games render a "full" image (meaning you actually see more when using an emulator) and others don't bother since it won't be visible anyway.

Is there any way to fix this? And will it fixed in later PJ64 versions?

It's normal behavior, so there's nothing to fix. However, the latest version of Direct64 has a "simulate overscan" option that will remove the borders by stretching the image.

No, it's a N64 graphics plugin developed by Orkin.
