2 problems ive tried but can't fix

I can't seem to get Yoshi's story to run right... ive tried plugin after plugin and setting after setting.. i got it to run in one configuration almost full speed.. and mario party 1 flickers, the whole screen a lot.. Every other game runs fun speed.. so i know it's some setting i don't have right. My card is an X550 and im using a 3ghz cpu with 512 ddr2.... what would ideal settings be for those 2 games?
