PJ 1.4 vs 1.5, 1.6, and "2.0"

I have used PJ64 religiously for two years now, as the other emulaters are just not anywhere near the quality I find in PJ64. However I find an alarming disparity in quality among the different versions. I originally used version 1.3, then foudn 1.4 later and have used that primarily until now. I have also used 1.5 but foudn that most games have more problems with it than they did with 1.4. I also once found a patch to turn v 1.5 into a "2.0" version that in my opinion doesnt work at all. Now, recenly I found a site with a 1.6 version. My question is two fold...what version of PJ64 do you like? ...and where can you find the must updated info and version?
Thanks

there is no Version 2.0. I beta test V 1.7 and it's pretty stable, but no time frame has been given for a release yet, still some things the authors want to work out....

as to where,
www.pj64.net
You can become a beta tester, but you must donate to do so, they need the money for server upkeep and in donating you get to test the betas before they become public... equtable trade

I am also a beta tester (just donated last night), and just from first impressions, the improvements are coming along very nicely. I am still just beginning to test things out, but I do see some improvements (speed wise), with mario party games so far. There is a long list of items that they plan on fixing for the site, and a list of changes since 1.6, such as a rumble pack glitche. I won't go to into detail, because I don't want to spoil everything, but if you'd like to see how everything is going, and use the newest builds, do as dpence suggested and donate, I feel it is well worth it. You also get to talk directly to the developers, so that your problems are better heard. But seriously, there are some really cool things going on with pj64, and I hope that some people are eager to check them out and help the team.

viridianether:
As for my oppinion, v1.6 is the way to go right now (for free that is). Like dpence said, 2.0 is a fake (at least not made by the team), so go to pj64.net, use 1.6, and make sure you get all of the newest plugins, as well as the rdb file.

You are correct that the team is planning to develop "net play" at some point during the project. I don't believe that this has even been started yet though, because the team would want to get every other aspect of the emulator working as good as possible before starting on internet play. I am not sure what it will be based on, but we all can hope that it will be developed and that it will turn out to be something worth while. I tested 1.7 some more today, and let me tell you guys that audio is improving drastically (already)! Get excited, because when 1.7 comes out someday, you'll be impressed Or, you could always join the list of beta testers and put a smile on your face right now

This is very encouraging news...really. I salute the team, and everyone else involved....if it weren't for such individuals, life would be such a dim, dull place.
