is there a way to fix fullscreen direct64 v0.5?

it seems that the fp2 counter oin pj64 stays active while in fullscreen mode for direct64, causing it to flash everytime the counter updates, is there a workaround for this? i couldn't find a way to turn the fp2 counter off.
