Playstation Controller in PJ64

I recently bought one of those little things from GameSoft where you plug one end (USB) into your computer and the other end has two outlets for PSX controllers...is there any way I can use it (like, the analog sticks) with PJ 64? If not, what's the next best (cheapest) thing to do?

Your best bet would be to post this at emutalk in the PJ64 section. I'm sure they'd be able to help you with anything you need. Clements is usually around here, but who knows how long it'll be 'till he can check here.

Any controller will work in PJ64 so long as Windows recognizes it.

PSX controllers work surprisingly well for N64 emulation. Map the C buttons to the right control stick. I have the adapter from Radioshack, and I use a DualShock. It used to rumble, but ever since SP2 and DirectX 9.0c, it does so no more. My guess is DirectX 9.0c doesn't like the driver... DirectX does control vibration drivers right?

yeah, before DX9.0c... I think that the pad plugin should be rewritten or something like that, than it could rumble again.

Does it rumble for you in the vibration test in the gamepad properties setup? It doesn't rumble for me there. It's not the plugin that's at fault, it's the driver. Radioshack needs to release a new version that'll be happy with DirectX 9.0c. Of course, who knows when they'll ever get around to doing that?

That's surprising. I wonder what on earth is going on with my pad then. The vibration drivers just aren't working... I figured it'd be the fault of DirectX9.0c or something...

Hey, i noticed Zcal said you could "Map the C buttons to the right control stick".

Could someone let me know if this works? Because this would be very useful with playing those first person shooter games like goldeneye, with the right control stick for side-stepping (like with the all todays consol controls - GC, Xbox and PS1/2). I dont want to use the original Nintendo 64 control because the control stick always gets all dodgey and loose after a while, and from what i read in these forums, the playstation control seems to work well for the N64 emulators.

Cheers.

too easy for be truth

There is a way to do it easy.

you can use any ps1 or ps2 with ForceFeedback (or dualshock), the N-rage pad plugin support it VERY WELL, you donīt need to buy an expensive PC controller or make a complicated adaptation, you only need a db 25 port converter to a psx pad port usually it comes with any dance floor, you can use the rumble feature, using a 6 v adaptator, if you looking for more info check this site: www.emulatronia.com. is a good site but is in spanish
