Zelda Majoras Mask Problem
Hi, i have only been playing this rom for a few days but have encountered my first problem. When playing this game, just after you shoot the skull kid to get the ocarina back a sequence loads about the princess and zelda. When that appears i can see the text box but nothing else, i switched to a gpu which lets you use wireframe and when wireframe is enabled i can see the models but no textures. All of the gpu's do the exact same thing so there is no point in sending in my config, also i could do with knowing the best plugins for my system specs, Im using project64 1.5. My system specs are as followed: Pentium 4 2.8 800fsb radeon 9200 128mb 512mb RAM DDR 400 865 NEO2-LS 120GB HDD Realtek AC'97 Audio |

Re: Zelda Majoras Mask Problem
Have you tried scanning the rom with good64 to see if it's corrupt? If not, go here and read about it, then scan your rom: http://www.emutalk.net/forumdisplay.php?forumid=82 |

Re: Zelda Majoras Mask Problem
Did a scan to check if they were corrupt, alls fine, handy tool though turns out my perfect dark rom was bad. Appart from renaming them to the original file names nothing was wrong with zelda. Here is what i get using Jabos D3D61.5 with standard settings just resolution changed, and the other with wireframe enabled. Last edited by xero_steg; October 11th, 2003 at 02:07. |

Re: Zelda Majoras Mask Problem
If I remember correctly, this is the scene that doesn't show in Jabo's as an unemulated effect is involved, which I believe is motion blur. Therefore, try Glide64 0.5 + eVoodoo and enable motion blur if you want to see this effect. Evoodoo may have problems displaying it, and it is slow.

Re: Zelda Majoras Mask Problem
Ok, now that scene loads just great, and even the graphics have improved with the nvidia blurr mode, which works fine on a ATI Radeon 9200. Youll prolly think im a bit fussy here, but now the writing in the menu options go black. How can i fix this? i have tried fiddling about with all the settings, could i get the best settings for the glide plugin and my system specs too if possible

glide64 and ati radeon 9800 pro
I tried using the new glide64 with evoodoo 3.25 on a p4 system with a ATI Radeon 9800 Pro card, and all I get when trying to run Zelda Majora's Mask is an error at the beginnin saying Glide64 cannot run in windowed mode. Click Alt+Enter to got to Fullscreen. So I do this and after the Nintendo logo, the whole program closes (PJ64 1.5)!!??! Could you tell me your specification (what plugins you use, and the settings for them?), 'cause I really need to get past this bit after getting the ocarina when the screen goes black.. -Alandir |

Unfortunately motion blur in Glide64 + eVoodoo works on a minority of computers as far as I know, but make sure you try eVoodoo Nemesis first. Try the frame limiter off or enable wireframe mode in Jabo's plugin which may reveal something in the scene.

I've got yet another problem running Majora's Mask, so I figured I'd post it in this thread instead of create another one. I realize the black screen at the dawn of every day is unavoidable, but when it does it now (Project 64 v1.5) it drops the frame rate to around 10fps... needless to say, this is extremely annoying as it means you have to wait 5 minutes or so of blackscreen. I could have lived with that... but now it's creating the same slowdown whenever link uses the Eye of Truth to look at something that you can't ordinarily see. (Using the Eye doesn't change the framerate unless there's something Eye-able in view.) I never had the slowdown at all with the old version of Project 64. I've used Jabo's plugin and Glide 64 - both have the same issue. Daedalus' output is too f-ed up to play... Anyone else had this problem? |

These problems are caused by the framebuffer, and strain PC hardware a lot. You can turn the framebuffer off to speed it up - to do this go into the 'Rom Settings' tab in Jabo's graphics plugin config and disable 'self-rendered textures'. Both effects should now be fullspeed (but broken I think), and some graphics effects will become broken as well, but this is much less annoying as having massive slowdowns throughout the game. |

otherwise, maybe it's something I can't see... For instance, this is what my Glide64 config window looks like: |

Uncheck "Hide Advanced settings" at the bottom of the first tab to unlock these settings. The font you have chosen for your Display text is too big so some options will be unselectable off the screen. Reduce you font size, that should reveal the settings as shown in my pic.
