Re: Evangelion 64 problems
I just started playing this game last night and YOWSERS!! I sooo love it. It was so much fun, I beat it twice in a row already. lol
Anywhoo, I'm not here to brag, 'cuz I want you to have the same fun I did, so let's see if I can help ya. Naturally, I recommend having a fast PC (that's a no brainer). Secondly, I recommend downloading Rice's Daedalus 5.1.0 video plugin. You can get it at http://www.emulator-zone.com/ I stuck with the default settings for that, and it ran BEAUTIFULLY. Every 3D texture, every menu, every animation... flawless. (well cept for a couple minor screen lines here and there, but nothing that disturbs the awe of the game) So give that plugin a shot and I think you'll be happy. I hope it works for ya.

Re: Evangelion 64 problems
What is your description of a "fast computer?" I have a 1.30 GHZ. Is that fast enough to play it?
Off topic question: How do I check what 3D card I have? Last edited by d_b; October 12th, 2003 at 22:02. |

Re: Evangelion 64 problems
my com is 2.4 ghz thats more way more than enough, my really old one is 500mhz, that barley ran mario64 and Zelda OOT, so 1.30ghz should be ok, not too sure about seeing the graphics card tho

Re: Evangelion 64 problems
You are most welcome, Auron. I'm so glad the new plugin worked for you as well.
As for a definition of a "fast computer", I suppose that's pretty relative. My computer is a Pentium 4 1.5Ghz and it runs every game I've tried just fine. You'd have to check Project64's faq for their recomended system requirements. Generally I'd say Pentium 3 or higher (2 maybe?) should do nicely. I also recomend trying out the glide64 plugin for other games (not Evangelion) too. I've found great success with that one where Rice's fails. I don't even use the default Direct3D plugins anymore. Anywhoo... so what did you think of Evangelion 64, Auron? There's some FAQ's on the web if you need help with the gameplay due to translation issues, but I found it pretty straightforward. All in all, the game is really quite easy, but I just love the chance to replay the series like that, and have fun as unit 0. Not to mention, the graphics and design are really great, and the music and vocal tracks were a great touch too. I think it's just an all around cool simulation of the show.
