problems with gln64 v0.4 and pj64

it's pretty weird but i haven't played any n64 game on the computer for a pretty long time now so when i downloaded pj64 yesterday again i got myself this new plugin gln64 v0.4 and the Service Pack for pj64... but every game i wanna start with this plugin just loads the rom and then either simply closes pj64 or it freezes and i get errors... i've tried fiddling around with the settings but i don't seem to find a solution.... my specs are: Radeon 9700 Pro, P4 2.4 Ghz, 512 MB Ram, Catalyst 03.6, DirectX 9.0b, and i'm running windows xp
the rom files are ok cause when i run them with the default pj plugin they run just fine but the weird thing is that my computer get's a pretty big slowdown... i remember that with the normal plugin i never had any speedproblems no matter what i configured.. help appreciated cause i didn't find any clues in the readme.txt and these 2 threads couldn't help me either:

Re: problems with gln64 v0.4 and pj64

run PJ64 in win98 compatibility mode, it's the only Why I have gotten it to work so far.
(Right click pj 64, go to compatibility and select windows 98)

That's glN64 problem. I got many freezes and crash and I found glN64 has big trouble in swapping memory, I use a mem monitor and see all memory being used up immediately. You shouldn't enable H/W Frame Buffer Settings, it's buggy. And use 1964, if it crash, it not freeze up the computer.
