Glide not loading
I'm trying to use the glide plugin for project64 but it says: This application has failed to start because glide3x.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem. What do I do? I deleted the old .dll file and replaced it with a new one and still nothing happend. I am also running windows xp pro. What's wrong?

Seems like you don't have a native glide card (AKA Voodoo Graphics card). You have to use a glide wrapper to do the job. The glide wrapper emulates the functions required by glide applications (applications like the glide64 plugin). Get yourself the evoodoo wrapper the best known wrapper yet. I think you can find it here on NGEMU. Good Luck |

Re: Glide not loading
What is your graphic card? If you're using the one made by nVidia or Ati, that's the problem. This would not happend if you're using 3dfx card [AKA Voodoo]. I think the problem solved as acepower said above.

Just get it from Lord Kane's reply above (he placed a link there) and stop complain about it Quote:
The glide64 plugin in order to work REQUIRES a system file called "glide3X.dll". This file works ONLY with Voodoo cards. That's why you have to use the glide wrapper: because it emulates the functions of the original glide3X.dll and works with Direct3D cards like NVidia cards |

Extract file glide3x.dll to PJ64 Folder. Done! Kane, I got question. Does eVooDoo wrapper emulate 100% graphic like native Voodoo 5500? 'cause I decided to buy the 2nd hand 5500 from my pal.

Well, it usually comes with a Glide3x.dll and/or glide2x.dll, copy these to the root directory and plugin directory of it and run the EXE file (and for eVoodoo, copy evoodoo.cpl to #WINDOWS/SYSTEM32 EDIT: MoJo beat me

Re: Glide not loading
You should ask this at www.emutalk.net. They know everything about N64 there!

Re: Glide not loading
If you are using eVoodoo 3.99 Beta (which is the most up to date) then use fullscreen as it is much, much faster in all games and not windowed mode. Other than that, lowering the fullscreen resolution boosts speed too. I'd suggest you use 1964 instead of Project 64 as it is faster. Last edited by Clements; August 4th, 2003 at 17:58. |

Re: Glide not loading
if i dont fullscreen it, i get a message on the screen saying [ GFX cant be displayed in windowed mode, switch to fullscreen mode by pressing Alt + Enter ] or something along those lines... so, ovbiously, its jumpy in fullscreen... i have only tried f-zero x i dont really want to make the resolution any smaller than 640 X 400... |

Re: Glide not loading
If you want to play F-Zero, use Raziel64's updated ini: http://www.emutalk.net/showthread.php?t=15447 otherwise it's slow, and use the updated Glide64 0.42: http://www.emuxhaven.net/~glide64/downloads.htm F-Zero has higher requirements due to the way it is coded (the real game ran at 60fps.) |
