PC hangs and shuts off w/ pj64
My PC isn't the greatest
system specs - Windows XP Pro 1.33GHz Celeron 128MB SDRAM 32MB gf2 pci vid card plugins - Jabo's Direct3D7 1.40 Jabo's DirectSound 1.40 Jabo's DirectInput7 1.40 I seem to be able to play games will little trouble. As long as I have everything set up right the emulator runs great on my PC! The problem is, when I try to end emulation to close PJ64 my comp hangs for awhile then shuts off. How do I fix this? |

Re: PC hangs and shuts off w/ pj64
This happened on my cousin's computer also. your best bet is to wipe your harddrive, and reinstall Windows XP *with the service pak*. The service pak is very important. I know that doing this is a huge hassle (especially if your computer isn't *yours* and is used by your whole family), but it will solve an incredible amount of problems for you if you have had your comouter up and running for more than a year or so.
In my experience after some time your Hard Drive just gets bogged with *stuff* that you pick up online. The only surefire way to clean it out is to do a full Re-Format and Windows re-installation. |

this used to happen to me too, turned out i had a virus that had infected half the files on my PC including project64. try a virus scan, see if anything turns up
before i figured that out though, i always got around the problem by reinstalling PJ64 everytime i wanted to use it, when the installation is complete the program opens automatically, for some reason i had no trouble using it this way |
