Best plugin for Paper Mario?

Hi all,

Can anyone recommend a good graphics plugin for paper mario for use on a Radeon 9700? (by good I mean least graphical errors)

I used to know of one on the emutalk forums, but they are down and I can't remember the name of it or where to get it from.

Thanks!

Use Glide64 0.42 with the eVoodoo 3.99 beta wrapper with the buffer swapping method in Glide64's settings set to hybrid. You should have no flicker.

Re: Best plugin for Paper Mario?

Hi,

Thanks for the response. No flicker, but a lot of missing graphics/corruption....

How does that Glide plugin display the graphics?
Enhanced or just like N64? (blurry, etc)

I'm looking for something that makes the games on the emulator look as closely as possible to playing the real N64, no enhanced graphics effects and all

Glide64 is one of the best plugins compatibility-wise, as to being close to the real N64, I'd say it's fairly close, if you don't have the screen smoothing enabled in eVoodoo (if you are using it and don't have a voodoo card) I'd at least try it, it might offer what you're looking for.

That's great.
I have a GeForce, will I have any problems?
Also, where can I find such plugin and the necessary files to make it work?

Thanks for the help.

To get Glide64 working using a GeForce, you need eVoodoo (a glide wrapper, the best of its kind) and of course, the actual plugin itself.

eVoodoo 3.99 Beta:
http://www.emutalk.net/showthread.php?threadid=14284

Glide64 0.42:
http://www.emuxhaven.net/~glide64/downloads.htm

-For WinXP, put eVoodoo.cpl and Glide3x.dll in the system32 folder of windows.

-For Win9x, put those files in the system folder of windows instead.

-Put Glide64.dll in the plugin folder of your emu. Just select it and it should work.

Bare in mind that the wrapper can cause various graphical issues in some games like the Zelda games.

Re: Best plugin for Paper Mario?

Because it is a demanding game and it stresses your CPU's abilities more than say... Mario 64 does.

If you run a program like Toast or Prime95 you will see some *really* high temperatures - they stress the CPU to the max.
