graphics issue (transparencies/color)
Just wondering what kind of graphical modifications I need to make to allow the transparent effects to work. The most notable problem I have right now is on Castlevania 2; an early example is the torches on the ghost ship. The flames are supposed to be colored and see-through, but instead they're white with this little black outline around them (kinda like playing on an old version of ZSNES). I'm using Jabo's direct3d graphics plugin, and I'm wondering if anybody can tell me what I need to change to make the graphics work right. Thanks.

Try enabling the framebuffer, it is available under 'advanced settings'. I don't have the game myself but I think that this should help you... What other gmes do you have that exhibit this problem (If I have them I an mess around myself)? Take Care. |

Sounds more like a hardware/driver issue to me. I suspect your video card is below spec.

Hmm...
The strange thing is that Zelda OoT, which had similar problems on a different emulator (everything is WHITE), runs perfectly under the current settings. But I'm positive that Castlevania is supposed to look different, since I have a friend who has it. *sigh* Well, I've been wrestling with settings for a while and have found no shortage of ways to make the problem WORSE, but none yet to make it better. |

Have you tryed using an OpenGL plugin and seeing what happens there? (try TR64 OGL and Jabo' OGL). In addition to that you might want to try and reinstall your video card drivers (just get the newest ones) and maybe try reeinstalling DirectX as well (may as well grab version 9). This does sound a lot like the type of problem that occurs when minimum specs aren't met, although you shouldn't have such problems with that GeForce 4. Good Luck. |
