I think someone should start a donation for a N64 Emu for PC too (Sorry for my english, i am polish *g*) I think the most people would pay a little amount for a good N64 Emulator |

The question is: Which emulator? There are several that are still under development and it would be difficult to organize a fund for all of them (Including the hard-working pluhgin devs also of course) It is a nice thought, but a difficult one to put into action without some widespread work and time spent by people. Your english is just fine

>I think the most people would pay a little amount for a good N64 Emulator Do you think Nintendo would sit idly by while someone sells an emu for one of thier systems? Look what happened to Bleem! and CVGS. If they hadn't been commercial emus, Sony would likely have left them alone, like they did PSEmuPro, ePSXe and the rest.

Errrrm... I think that he is talking about donations not actual purchasing of the software (which would definetely be doomed for failure). Although I could be mistaken. Donation type-things are in effect (I believe some authors have a Paypal setup) but are certainly not in widespread use or even support. |

Yeah, that's correct. The emu author will use the donation to buy newer program for coding, console for test and so on. Basicly, the donation will help the emu author bring you better emu

Just a note, without a licensed version of the software used for coding the programmer is not legally allowed to even distribute freeware. And some of these languages are expensive (VB.NET is $400 IIRC)

The problem is that most of the developers have jobs .. so they do not have much time .. some are at school .. so that is slightly different .. but I am sure a lot of the emu programmers would love to be able to work on them full time .. but as there is no real support for them to do this they need there job .. I would love to work on community applications full time .. oh well I am coding anyway .. |
