PJ64 on an old system - HELP!

Okay, here's the specs of the comp I'm trying to use:

PIII450mhz
128mb ram
Voodoo3 3000
Windows XP (DX8.1)

Here's the problem:
I'm trying to get PJ641.5 to run Super Mario 64 with Glide64 0.4
Everytime I try, all I get is a black screen and no sound and the system stops responding. If I run the game in windowed mode I DO get sound. (FYI: Super Mario 64 is the ONLY game that is going to be played on this comp.)

Also, If I use Jabo's D3d plugin I get "Direct3d failed to initilize your HAL device...."

I've tried other sets of 3rd party V33k drivers for windows xp and I've had no luck, in fact if I use a different set it screws Glide in other apps like ePSXe with Lewpy

So here's my questions
1) Can I get SM64 w/ PJ64 1.5 running on this comp
2) If I can, can you reccomend the best set of 3rd party drivers to use with WinXP, PJ64 1.5 and ePSXe?
3) If I can't, can you recommend an emulator I CAN use? (remember the only game that will be played is Mario64 but it has to be with sound)

Any help appriciated

I had the same problem. I had a no name video card with 4 MB RAM and it told me that it failed to initialize the HAL device. To add to that, my 333 Mhz pII and 64 MB RAM prolly wasnt efficient enough and i though n64 emulation on my PC was impossible. Then, I bought a GeForce 2 with 64 MB RAM and now i can run games at full speed.

another thing....why just Mario 64? if u were running more games, then it'd be worth it to spend $30 on a new card, but not just for 1 game.

voodoo cards are the best for emulation, u can run N64 games full speed using UltraHLE with only a 450mhz CPU and voodoo cards

Except that uHLE is dead and buggy. I hope Dominator et al. make some progress with their UHLE-based project. (although I'm a bit of a hypocrite, as I decided to use Corn which is also dead but not as buggy.

I HATE Uhle, Supra HLE, andUltra HLE 2046 (maybe the new release'll be good). Dont know why. Maybe its the compatability. Im gettin along just fine with my GeForce 2 and PJ 64 so ill stick to that.

Well, since he only wants to play Mario64 compatibility isn't such a big deal. Yeloazndevil has the right idea here, stick it out and use UltraHLE.
