Donkey Kong 64

Before I start, is anyone here capable in playing this game perfectly? if not, then there is no use looking at my problem. Anyways, I cannot hear a Realtime audio when playing this game on either PJ64 or 1964. Meaning that the video is faster than the sound, so hear the rap song too late while i see the lyrics go fast in front of me . Tried all Video and Sound plugins including Jabo's D3D7 v1.4, D3D6 v1.5 , Glide64 , Jabo's Direct Sound and Azmier's sound plugin (spelling mistake) , any suggestions how to over come this problem?

Donkey Kong 64 is evil!!!!! too rappish. rap = evil

anyway... donkey kong plays fine with glide 64 and azimer's sound hle. and pj64 1.5

I'm using a voodoo 3 pci, a regular ac'97 integrated sound card on an eMachine (633 celeron)

I seem to have a problem playing DK64.

Everytime I get this stupid message :

In a permanent loop that cannot be exited.
Emulation will stop now.

Verify ROM and ROM settings.

But if I load it into 1964 I get a message that it doesn't have the expansion pack enabled.

I've taken a screenie of the rom info , but GoodN64 qualifies it as good.

Kingstar: Have a look at the large thread on EmuTalk's Project64 forum about Donkey Kong 64. The game had some serious timing issues that meant you needed to use very high Counter Factor's (7 or 8) to make some jumps, which needed the 1964 emulator. I don't think these issues were fixed in PJ64 v1.5, so unless you're willing to fiddle with the game settings a lot steer well clear.

T.O.F.K.A.Z: 3 things to note:

1) The ROM name is tagged with [b1], this means it is a bad dump so the problem you are seeing is probably caused by the bad dump. Get a [!] tagged ROM, or at least with a [b or [h tag.

2) The ROM is (E), or European. This means it's a PAL 50VI/s game and since Donkey Kong 64 already has serious timing issues anyway it probably only works well on the US, or (U) dump.

3) It's listed as a .rom, which might mean it's unzipped. Unless your hard drive is very slow or you have very little RAM (64/128Mb) you'll want to ZIP it to save some space. My good US dump is only 26.5Mb zipped, a saving of 5.5Mb.

As for graphics plugins, I've had no problems running it with Jabo's D3D (v1.4 or v1.5) so unless Glide64 has fixed the sticking out polygon bug (which isn't plugin related according to the PJGameFAQ) I see no need to use it on an nVidia or ATI card. I've never bothered to watch the intro though, rapping monkeys aren't my thing

On 1) Thanks for letting me now .... I'm looking for a valid DK64 rom now.

On 2) You mean sound and video noy being in sync , well Banjo-Kazooie has this as well (intro only as far as I know) but I'll check for an Us dump.

On 3) Yep I unzipped it , but this nothing to do with the size of my hdd or am (Maxtor Diamond Max Ultra 80 Gb and 512 MB DDR Ram)

But still thanks for all your help.
