Conker's Bad Fur Day Speed Problems

Does anyone have slowdown problems with this game? I can run Zelda: Ocarina of Time fine, and the CPU shows some idle time left over but with Conker the CPU is all used up most of the time, causing the sound/gameplay to slow down. I've got a 750Mhz PC and I'm wondering if it would be worth it for me to overclock to 900Mhz. Framerate is not the problem - I get about 40-60 fps with a Geforce3 Ti500.

p.s. I couldn't get the game faq because it kept saying it was not found:

750 MHz is nearly minimum spec for PJ64, and given that CBFD is a more recent game, its requirements are higher still. Overclocking would probably help a bit, but buying a speedier CPU would be better.

I think you're right. Just checked the documentation and it said a 700Mhz Intel processor or 800Mhz AMD would be minimum. I've only got a 750Mhz Duron so there you go. Definitely should be overclocking I suppose. I guess Perfect Dark and Conker will have to wait until I get an upgrade.

The 30 fps is probably due to your video card. Do you find that the game is jerky with a 1.2GHz? In other words, the sound doesn't keep up, and the speed of the actual game world is slow?

I have a 1.2ghz and have the same problems youdescribed, unfortunately I can't get OpenGL to work so my GeForce 2 doesn't really kick in.
