I'm having a little lagg problem with several games that didnt lagg in the past releases of the emulator, so I'm asking this: What are the best settings/plugins I should use for my pc? PC stats:[SysInfo] :: OS: Windows 98 (4.10 - 2222) :: CPU: 1-AMD Duron, 600MHz, 1KB :: RAM: Usage: 21/128MB :: Video: 800x600 32bit :: HDD: Total: 48.77GB, Free: 25.6GB :: I have a Nvidia Riva Tnt2 Model 64 Pro (a.k.a: Maxi Gamer cougar standard) thanks in advance to whom ever will answer me

Are you playing your game off an ISO? Try it if you're not. Also, play the game with Pete's OpenGL as your GPU plugin.

ok this might sound stupid of me but.........everywhere I look I seem to see pete's open GL to be PSX only. I took the one in my epsxe and it didnt show up in the video plugins of pj64, and as for web browsing........no luck as of yet.

I used to have a computer like that~ Use PJ64 version 1.5 with Jabo's D3D plugin 1.5 @ 800x600 resolution. Sound: use Jabo's sound plugin- if the sound is choppy, enable [sync game to audio]

Your biggest problem is your CPU, and your graphics card doesn't help matters much either. The minimum CPU as stated in the manual is 700-800 MHz. With regard to sound, on your machine I would recommend Azimer's sound plugin. When you use it check "Send audio lists to audio plugin" in the RSP options, that should help speed a bit. Understand that with N64 emulation there is little in the way of tweaking. The best settings are generally already set by the ini, and you already have the best plugins. The performance you get "out of the box" is what you're stuck with. The best you could do is reduce resolution or disable sound if you're desperate for speed.

LOL your funny, I'm sorry to say that your 700-800 mhz is a bunch of crap (not trying to be mean or nothing) I've been in emulation for 5 to 6 years now, I've tested tons of emulators as well as roms for many authors well known to us all. So when you tell me that my pc doesnt fit the requirements for a basic use of N64 emulator.....your talking out of nonsence. As I stated in the first post of this thread I used pj64's other verions as well as the 1.5 and they NEVER lagged. Only the games stated in the game list that had problems really had the problems stated. What I dont get is why The Simple Mario 64 (u) now laggs when it didnt, and many others as well. So let me ask my question in a more specifique way, How Do I set My plugins in order to play the roms as they did in previous versions When they lagg if I use the same settings as the older versions. Keep those thoughts coming, the more differences in settings the better I love this testing out stuff!!

What Allnatural said was not wrong, and you can't be much of a pro if you're trying to use PSX plugins with an N64 emu... upgrade system or carry on using the older versions... there is no general problem known with the newest... you could also explain what you mean by "lag", it's a vague and non-useful term.

Strike one for the flaming idiot! I use multiple versions of PJ64 because if you check the game list some have/had notice msg besides them saying try 1.2 1.3 and so on. For the plugins part, if you so much like to nit pik, I was trying what someone offered.
