pj64 resolution

I just bought a dell laptop (inspiron 8200 series) and I tried playing ZELDA majora's mask on it. It worked fine but the picture is not sharp. On my crt monitor , the picture was sharp. I have a nvidea 4 card and a p4 1.6 ghz processor. My screen resolution is 1400 by 1024 sxga+ monitor type. I wanted to know if the problem is with my screen or pj64 plugins ??? I'm running windows xp. Does anybody know how to make the picture sharper ??? If anyone has some kind of solution or remedy ....... please let me know. thanks

Are you playing at your screen's natural resolution? Running a res below the natural will result in ugly pixel interpolation. Heck, even at the right res I've never cared for the look of LCDs. You're probably out of luck.

Try running at a resolution of a multiple of 320x240 (which is the n64's native resolution). So try running at 1280x960.

Jabo's D3D is the best GFX plugin at the moment for a Geforce4.

I have the same problem with this.If I play a game on my Desktop PC everything sharp and clear. But on my laptop it isn't , even with the same config , I think it has something to do with the screen/monitor.

That's why I find games crappy on LCD screens but that's just me.

Not necessarily. Even well made LCDs often look poor compared to a good CRT, and things only get worse if you're running a resolution below the LCD's native res.

Well copperwire I have played a few N64 Roms on my father's laptop. The image doesn't look bad , but just not as good as on a crt monitor.

LCD's work at a fixed resolution of usually 1024x768. Using a different resolution in games or emulators will cause extrapolation artifacts. So your best bet is running any application at the monitors standard resolution, which shouldn't be a problem performance-wise, especially with emulators. I really can't see much of a difference between my laptop and a CRT in terms of raw display quality when it comes to playing emulators and such.

I think certain emulators such as epsxe offer a resolution config option but it doesnt seem to work..... does it work on ur crt ?? I mean if u set ur resolution to anything within epsxe, will it work at that resolution ?? have u tried it ??
