the emu works but the screen is black

I just downloaded this emu with the special glide64 plugins for the voodoo cards and opened my roms with it. I opened mario and zelda ooc, can start a game but since the screen is black can't do anything...
Since the sound is great and everything except the screen looks perfect, is there anything that can be done?

Have you experimented with all the graphics options and that?
Are you sure everything is configured properly?
Maybe a picture or two could help. one that shows the options you have to choose from for the graphics plugin. Otherwiise i cant really help that much more.

press either Esc, or Alt-Enter to make the emu go in fullscreen. glide requires fullscreen.

Ah. A fellow Voodoo3 owner. Unfortunately you do have to go full screen. There is no way around it. But you can use a D3D plugin to play in a window.

Great! now I see something but the screen freezes on the place it was before becoming full screen and I can't get out unless I restart the computer.
Does anyone know if if would be easier if I bought another 3d card (like a geforce). I wish I had an almost problem free emu and if it can be true with a little money, then I would go this way.

I think it would be a good investment getting a Geforce card. The only thing would be that i would not get one just to help run an emulator properly. The real reason would be is if you play pc game a lot? If your do i would highly recomend getting one then. If it was just to get your emulators working properly i dont think it would be worth it, unless you got a good deal on one though.

The main reason why I possess a computer is to play games. I know that someday or another I will have to buy a new card because voodoo's too much outdated. Someday I won't be able to play a game I'd like because of this.
Right now the main reason is that my girlfriend has no games to play and too much spare time. She enjoys cute games (and you know how it is difficult to get one of those) and banjo-kazooie is the one she likes the most.
Since she's so cute, and I found miself some games I would like to own on the N64, I find it a good reason to buy another card.
My brother owns a computer store so I get everything at cost price, so why should I bother with trying to make work an emu that should run better with a good card?

Talking

The GF4 Ti4200 (note the 4200, not 4400 or 4600) is the best choice and is one heck of a bargain for the performance it gives. Leadtek, Gainward, and Hercules/Guillemot are all good brands. NewEgg (http://www.newegg.com) lists the Gainward GF4 Ti4200, 32mb at $159 right now.
