Project 64

I have some questions which you good people might be able to help me with.

1: Is project 64 the best emulator?
2: I have it set up with the default plugins(version 1.4).Is this the best setup?
3: Some of the games wont start at all(waverace for example)when they do the n64 logo comes up in the middle of the screen then goes up too the top left corner the game goes no further. Has this something to do with the plugins , and if it has what plugins are recommended for my computer?


My computer is as follows:

AMD Athlon XP1600+
Radeon VE 32mb
256mb RAM
Windows XP


Also if none of this makes sense (because i dont know what im talking about) will people please correct me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1. In my opinion, yes, but there are many great N64 emulators.

2. Yes.

3. The jumping logo is normal (a normal bug that is), but as for the game not going further...? Don't know. Wave Race works almost perfectly in PJ64, so I can only assume it's some configuration error on your part.
Jabo's plugins are currently the best there is.

Thanks for replying Allnatural but I still cant get wave race to work at all. I have the following file ((( wave race 64 (j) [h1] (cartname).v64 ))) and i have project64 set up as the default setup(Jabo's Direct3D7 1.40 and Jabo's DirectSound 1.40 with no input plugin selected) but still nothing. I have checked the file with goodn64 and it says its ok. So is there an updated plugin or am i just going to have to accept this game aint gonna work for me.


I almost forgot when it starts it says "emulator started" in the bottom left corner and the fps is spot on 60.

The size of the file is (8,388,608 bytes) so i dont think its a dud(although i may be wrong).

You've misconstrued what GoodN64 has told you. The [h1] indicates that your rom has been hacked in some way. That is likely your problem. The icon you're looking for is [!], which indicates a good rom. I've seen some hacked roms that work in PJ64, and some that don't.

Start searching for a better rom source.

Thanks again but still nothing.

I got another rom and tried it but it wont work. I downloaded an older version of project64(1.3) and what do you know it works fine. Is this a problem with version 1.4 or just a problem with mine.
I would really like to try to get it working on 1.4 but hey its worth the hassle.

I don't know what your problem is. Wave Race works just fine for me in v1.4.:confused: Your new rom is "good" right? Is it marked with a "[!]" ?

The new rom seems ok because it works fine with version 1.3 but nothing in 1.4:confused: :confused:

Never mind as long as i can get it going on one of them, i just thought it a bit strange for it not to work with the latest version.
