Ocarina of Time - black grounds

i've tested out both master quest and original ocarina of time and they both have this problem. the ground in the kokiri forest is all black, as is the deku tree. areas with water are sometimes black, sometimes fine. other than that, the game runs really well.
i'm using project64 v1.6 with jabo's direct3D8 1.6.

here are some pics to demonstrate what i mean-

any help will be greatly appreciated, cheers.

You could try all diffrent plugins, and mess around with the setings, you will come across one that will work soon!

Guild plugin seams to be the best for most people

Project64 already comes with a plugin that is compatible with your display card/chip

Jabo's Direct3D6 1.5.

The black grounds are a known issue when using Geforce 4MX and lower when using Detonator 50 and higher display drivers.

Prior to Det50's, several shaders were emulated in the drivers, because they are no longer emulated the game renders black ground and walls, sometimes flames are also the wrong colour.

ah, i'm not too fussed about majora's mask. i've played both several times and still have the actual games and a nintendo 64, but i never played the Master Quest, hence trying an emulated version.

It depense on the video card in your system, I have a old voodoo 2 pci card and it almost runs perfect to the original n64 system!, also its the way you set the setings, guildx2 work perfect with my voodoo 2 card but not the new guildx3

As i send try diffrent plugins and setings depending on your graphics card!

Yeah, MM uses some of the most complex blending operations the RDP is capable of. Really, really a pain to emulate on the PC. In my Z64 editor, only about 15% of MM models look accurate, while 99% of OoT models do.

that's the one that causes the black ground/water issue. i think i'd choose glitched menu over black ground as it doesnt really affect the gameplay as much.

theres 2 Jabo Direct3D plugins

Direct3D8 1.6 (this causes the black surfaces)
Direct3D6 1.5.2 (This should work fine on TNT2 and higher.)
