64 Controller Joystick issues

Hi everyone, I'm having a wierd problem. I got a 4triangles N64-USB converter to use my 64 controller with project64 and everything works fine except for the up and down on the joystick (left and right works fine). I have tried latest Nrage plugin, Jabos, and n64 direct plugins, all with similar results. All the other buttons and X axis work fine. Do you think my controller is bad? I don't have any other way of testing it (no 64 anymore...just the controller).

In Nrage, I have deadzone set to zero, and when I set the button mapping, it detects Y- for up and Y+ for down, yet in game they don't work. The down actually works a Liiiiittle bit, but up basically not at all.

Man, this is killing me! Any suggestions? Has anyone else used this successfully?

This is the product (all thats left besides Adaptoid which...well we all know about that...)

USB adapter for N64 controller (Nintendo 64 to PC) - eBay (item 200244818392 end time Dec-04-08 18:52:22 PST)

Thanks for your help!
