Dragon Seeds Sound Problem

I remember this game having problems before, but now I just don't get it.

Usually when I play this on my PS2 it will cut out sound on occasion during battles, but now all battles are in silence. Sound effects are still there, but no BGM. And the BGM is everywhere else in the game, just not when I'm fighting.

Could anyone help?

Hm, well in all truth I set this thing up a looong while back and just now started playing on it, so I can't remember everything or know exactly what you're looking for. But I think this might be it:

Video: Pete's D3D Driver 1.76
Sound: epsxe SPU core 1.5.2. with the three first boxes ticked
Cdrom: epsxe CDR WNT/W2K core 1.5.2.

Was that what you were looking for? Sorry for all the trouble and thanks so much for trying to help!

yeah for the most part those are what i was saying i needed. anyway, aside from the sound plugin those are the same video and cd rom plugins i use. try my settings below and see if they help. as for sound, you should try the eternal spu 1.41 non lite, its one of the better plugins out there.

for video i use:

Plugin: Pete's DX6 D3D Driver 1.1.76
Author: Pete Bernert
GFX card: NVIDIA GeForce Go 7900 GS

Resolution/Color:
- 1920x1200 Fullscreen - [32 Bit]

Textures:
- R8G8A8A8
- Filtering: 4
- Hi-Res textures: 0
- VRam size: 256 MBytes

Framerate:
- FPS limit: on
- Frame skipping: off
- FPS limit: 60.0

Compatibility:
- Offscreen drawing: 3
- Framebuffer texture: 2
- Framebuffer access: 4
- Alpha multipass: on
- Mask bit: on
- Advanced blending: hardware

Misc:
- Scanlines: off [0]
- Unfiltered FB: off
- Dithering: off
- Screen smoothing: on
- Full vram: on
- Game fixes: on [00000001]

and for sound i use these settings:

i have the top 3 boxes ticked

in the actual config mine is set up like this:

audio device- directsound
buffer size- 80 (doesnt have to be this, so set it to your preferance)
audio-out method- thread

all 3 special game fixes enabled

"wait for XA buffer is free" enabled under the "misc" section

neill's reverb

EDIT:

Never mind about what I had here before, I found the plugin and used it, but it's still not working. Everything's set up completely as you stated to no avail.

try playing it on another emulator like psx and see if the problem is still there. ive never played this game myself and its possible there could be some sort of compatibility issue between the game and the emulator that i would not be aware of. another thing to try is to play it either from an iso or directly from the cd, depending on whichever method you are doing right now. if you are using an iso its possible whatever program you used to make it missed something or didnt make a complete image, which can explain certain issues some people have. so try playing it from the cd if you are using an iso at the moment.

well the psx emulator doesnt use a plugin system like epsxe does so some people find it to be a little more user friendly and much simpler to set up and get working. the only downside that some people might say about it is that it doesnt do any of that flashy graphical enhancement stuff epsxe is capable of. but if your one of the types that doesnt really mind that, psx is a pretty solid choice.
