Exclamation Final Fantasy 8 Issues

Hey guys,
Basically i have the original FF8 disc's , I got the game to run via epsxe.
Though the problem is it took approximatly 20 minutes to get to the start menu, now there are a few ideas i have hoping for second opinion or help.
I tried to rip it into a iso though there were disc read errors using magiciso and alchohol 120% (doesnt explain how it can work direct from cd)?
Also im running 2.4GHZ and 256 RAM i know yuck -.- hopefully getting upgraded tomorrow. Any help would be much appreciated , thanks in advance

if it is getting disk read errors, it doesnt necessarily mean that the entire disk is unreadable, certain parts could be though. if that is the case, then that could explain why it took so long to get to the menu. you can either clean the disk, or if that fails, you might have to get another copy somehow, which sucks but that could be your only option at this point.
