Final Fantasy 9 CG Problems

I have a:
Pentium 4 Processor
Old Rage Video Card
512 MHrtz of ram (yes very little)

I am Using:
P.E. Op. S. Soft Driver (Computer cant handle much...)
ePSXe SPU Core 1.5.2. (Sound)
ePSXe CDR WNT/W2K core 1.5.2. (CDrom thingy)

So I was playing through Final Fantasy 9, Disk 1, and right after you get through the ice cave and get done with the little village there is a cut seen where the cargo ship flys and right when it leaves the screen glitches up and the sound gets stuck... any help?

I've downloaded the ppf files and dont know how to work them, but is there one for the US NTSC?

thanks

you need to use 1.5.2. this is well known problem that occurs when playing the game on 1.6.0.

edit- and you do realize that there is a sticky right at the top of this section that explains this specific issue clearly, right? not to mention the 38299283831 other threads about this as well.

well for some people, myself for example, do not see this occur in either version of epsxe. so it isnt entirely impossble to get it working on 1.6.0, but it seems that the majority of users run into some issue of the sorts in 1.6.0, and i dont know why that is exactly and it would be hard to narrow it down to find out why. so for the most part, the game has issues with 1.6.0. and that includes this game, chrono cross, and from what ive heard, FF7 and FF8 as well (again i do not have these issues for some reason) so i do not know what triggers these sort of issues.

your best bet is to just play it (or them, depending on which specific games you intend to play) on 1.5.2. and another thing you should know is that i dont know if the save states you might or might have not used will work for both versions, so if you are relying on save states to save you game, you will probably have to start your game over once you make the switch to the 1.5.2 version. if you are using a memory card you should be fine though.

ive tried using the 1.52 version and it worked.. they both use the same save state.. i used my quick save file from 1.60 (from F1) and quick loaded (F3) it to 1.52 it was loaded and i got though.. then i returned to using the 1.60,, just install both version and copy the memry card folder for the quick saves to be usable on both versions :-)

How about the sound? What's the best sound plugin to use with Final Fantasy 9? I'm using Pete's Opengl 2.8 with the epsxe spu core, but sound is laggy soemtimes.

EternalSPU would have to be the most recommended.
