Problem with games slow motion
Hello, I'm new with espx.
I have a lot of game that I want to replay so I download espx, everything is fine except cinematics and filmed scene in game (eg Resident evil I and II). with game sometimes: http://perso.latribu.com/slimm/perso/re_bug_frames.jpg With cinematics, the fps go down (50 -> 20 - 30), freeze... With filmed game action and talking between characters, nearly the same, but this is not so bad that with cinematics. I'm on a laptot acer aspire 5920G with VISTA, duo core intel 2.0ghz, GeForce MGt8600. I test the same config with my brother's pc (XP, gforce fx 5700) and everything works perfectly well. Is there a way to make this working with my laptop ? bios: scph1001.bin video : gpuPeteOpenGL2.dll sound: ePSXe SPU core 1.5.2. cdrom: ePSXe CDR WNT/W2K core 1.5.2. video config: Plugin: Pete's OpenGL2 Driver 2.8 Author: Pete Bernert Card vendor: NVIDIA Corporation GFX card: GeForce 8600M GT/PCI/SSE2 Resolution/Color: - 800x600 Window mode - Internal X resolution: 1 - Internal Y resolution: 1 - Keep psx aspect ratio: off - No render-to-texture: off - Filtering: 0 - Hi-Res textures: 0 - TexWin pixel shader: off - VRam size: 0 MBytes Framerate: - FPS limitation: on - Frame skipping: on - FPS limit: 50.0 Compatibility: - Offscreen drawing: 1 - Framebuffer effects: 2 - Framebuffer uploads: 1 Misc: - Scanlines: off - Mdec filter: on - Screen filtering: off - Shader effects: 0/1 - Flicker-fix border size: 0 - GF4/XP crash fix: off - Game fixes: off [00000000] Last edited by Slimmx; January 3rd, 2008 at 12:43. |

try disabling frame skipping and then set your framerate limit to something like 60-70. if that doesnt work try using the d3d dx 6 plugin with settings like these:
Plugin: Pete's DX6 D3D Driver 1.1.76 Author: Pete Bernert GFX card: NVIDIA GeForce Go 7900 GS Resolution/Color: - 1920x1200 Fullscreen - [32 Bit] Textures: - R8G8A8A8 - Filtering: 4 - Hi-Res textures: 0 - VRam size: 256 MBytes Framerate: - FPS limit: on - Frame skipping: off - FPS limit: 65.0 Compatibility: - Offscreen drawing: 3 - Framebuffer texture: 2 - Framebuffer access: 4 - Alpha multipass: on - Mask bit: on - Advanced blending: hardware Misc: - Scanlines: off [0] - Unfiltered FB: off - Dithering: off - Screen smoothing: on - Full vram: on - Game fixes: on [00000001]

Ouwa fast answer
![]() Okay it seems that it was the frame skipping, now the last frames bug is "disabled" ![]() The cinematics now is "viewable" but still a little bit slow with dialogs sometimes only (loss of fps). I already try to put 60 fps but I feeled that the game was a little bit too fast (it might be because I'm in a PAL world ^^) For the moment this is playable and cinematics is viewable for my self, but i'll keep in mind your alternative configuration (if the post is still active later ^^) Thank you ! Okay finaly i tryed your solution; this it better in game graphics and a little bit better for cinematics and game movies but not perfect. Last edited by Slimmx; January 3rd, 2008 at 14:05. its possible the sound plugin could be causing some issues, try using the eternal spu sound plugin instead with settings similar to these:
have the top 3 boxes ticked in the actual config mine is set up like this: audio device- directsound buffer size- 80 (doesnt have to be this, so set it to your preferance) audio-out method- thread all 3 special game fixes enabled "wait for XA buffer is free" enabled under the "misc" section neill's reverb

well one thing you could try is to set epsxe's priority higher in the task manager. another thing to do since you are using a dual core is to make it so epsxe is assigned to only one of the cores your CPU has. i dont know if these will have a major impact on your issue but they are things to try.
you said resident evil though right? try enabling sub channel reading in the cd rom plugin.
