okay i have 14 ps1 games backed up on my hard drive, and this is the ONLY one that im having problems with. the game is Resident Evil 2 - Disc 2 - Claire, and the video freezes halfway through the game. this dosnt make sense at all considering i have no problems what-so-ever with Disc 1 - Leon. anyway when you play as claire in scenario 1 you can get all the way to the sewers (sp?) and when you go through the double doors and run into the little girls mother for the first time everything runs smoothly, the cinematic even plays all the way through with no problems. but when they both start talking again the video freezes... HOWEVER the audio keeps on rolling. now this is the really strange part. if you listen to the audio it is random clips throughout the game, mostly towards the end. it plays the audio clip from when you fight the little girls father on the train (going down into the lab) over and over a couple of times, then continues (in sequential order) audio clips throughout the rest of the game. in the second scenario you get all the way to the skytrain that takes you to the lab and when the little girl runs into the room they start talking, everything goes smoothly, then as they both finish talking the EXACT same thing happens... the random audio clips playing are the exact same as the first scenario and play in the exact same order. both times are out of my control because it always happens when two characters are talking, what do you think could be the problem? for reference, here are my statistics....
Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition Version 2002 Service Pack 2 Intel Pentium 4 CPU 2.66GHz, 768 MB of RAM ePSXe v.1.6.0 - im using the official ePSXe audio plugin and ive tried over 6 of the best rated video plugins (which work on every other game very well) and the same exact thing happens on every one. ps. now for some crazy reason the file is corrupted... i assure you this is not the case, i have re-downloaded the file 3 times and nothing different ever happens. |

actually the game was divided up into 9 files, like every other game i downloaded, and i used WinRAR to extract all of them into a .bin file which i then opened with ePSXe
- just to make sure i got the right one (in case only one part was corrupted) i re-downloaded all 9 of them and the extraction went without error |

Actually, any discussion of downloading copyrighted games, videos, BIOS files, etc.. violates the no warez policy here. Regardless of whether you own the originals, it doesn't make downloading them legal, as the only backup you're allowed to have is one that you've made from your own discs. Closed.
