Chrono Cross Visual & Transition prob.

Hello, I have a small problem with chrono cross, the visual effects are not good with my game, if look at the picture I attached, the little yellow square should appear (Elements Level 3) or at least it should be flashing but it isnt, it just stays dark instead. Whatever level it is it doesnt appear. The next problem is a screen transition slow down. I have an iso and I have Eternal SPU plugin 1.41, here are my specs for the sound and video:

Plugin: Pete's OpenGL2 Driver 2.8
Author: Pete Bernert
Card vendor: NVIDIA Corporation
GFX card: GeForce FX 5500/PCI/SSE2

Resolution/Color:
- 640x480 Window mode
- Internal X resolution: 1
- Internal Y resolution: 1
- Keep psx aspect ratio: off
- No render-to-texture: off

- Filtering: 0
- Hi-Res textures: 0
- TexWin pixel shader: off
- VRam size: 0 MBytes

Framerate:
- FPS limitation: on
- Frame skipping: off
- FPS limit: Auto

Compatibility:
- Offscreen drawing: 2
- Framebuffer effects: 3
- Framebuffer uploads: 1

Misc:
- Scanlines: off
- Mdec filter: on
- Screen filtering: on
- Shader effects: 0/1
- Flicker-fix border size: 0
- GF4/XP crash fix: off
- Game fixes: on [00001000]

I tried the game with 1.76 but I had many problems (battle swirl, the little yellow squares for elements in battle dont even appear, etc.)

Sound: Eternal SPU 1.41, Thread, 3 option bellow are not checked

Your video card only has OpenGL 1.5. You are using an OpenGL 2.0 plugin.

This is not true. The plugin's name is OpenGL2, the "2" being there because it's a sequel to the original OpenGL plugin. It does NOT use anything on the OGL2.0 spec.

Mongolfiere: Have you tried using a different emulator? By the way, do you have a PCI card or are your AGP drivers just not installed?

Oh yea, sorry. Was driving back and forth from somewhere and had a little time to kill so I browsed the forum and forgot that I ran OpenGL2 on a POS computer.

Well, IMO (and IPO--In Pete's Opinion), OGL2 shouldn't really be run on lower cards, you just won't be able to experience the full benefit of this plugin. So your idea was right, but you said it wrong

In the same way, for the 5500 I'd probably stick with OGL.

I tried 1.76 with all the required settings and it's filled with glitches, it's nothing compared to 2.8, I mean, the writings look awfully ugly, the elements are much more problematics, the battle swirl slows everything, etc. My graphic card has been updated with the latest Omega's drivers so it's okay. Know what to do? I've never had any problems with FFVII with OGL 2.8 before though..

Just diabling the "odd/even bit" fix probably would do the trick. 5500 can render CC just fine with OGL2 plugin.

If I disable it, I have this problem where the game totally freezes when I open Elements from the Main Menu. Of Cours I'd love to stay with OGL2 it's much more easier for me, but if I use it, I'd like to know how to solve the problem of my first post, I mean the flashing element thing.

EDIT: I actually tried to remove the special fix just to see if it worked, but it's still the same, I even tried with PSXeven and ePSXe 1.6.0 and SSSPSX (I guess it's the correct name..)
