more ff9 questions

I'm sure everyone's sick of ff9 by now but hey, it is a great game.
my problems a bit odd, dont even know if its a problem with the emu or game itself, but i get a completely over the top number of random battles- i usually can't walk for more than 5 seconds without encountering one. Needless to say this gets quite frustrating. using version 1.5.2 and had no problem with fmv's.

The other thing was, whenever i try and pump up the graphics most things work fine, apart from battles which slow down past the point of being playable. Using petes ogl 2 with an fx5600ultra 256mb, with 1.3 gig of ram and an xp2700+ processor, but can only really play it on the lowest settings.

Cheers for any help

Sorry to say but in a FF This is like that. This is not a "problem" considering this is the way the game was programmed. So you'll need to live with.

I suggest you to use Pete's OGL 1.76 with this config.

thanks for the replies, thought that might be the case but, having been through 7 and 8 recently, there just seemed to be alot more. will try using pets OGL1 and see how that fares, but was running fine in 800x600 fs, with all the extras turned off on OGL2, just looked a bit grimey

Hehe I'm nearly in the end of the game now, and I had some headaches with the encounters sometimes too, just I played the game before, and I knew that, there are many encounters.. So, just play with this feeling, I can't tell more. ^^
